Following the debut of Sparrow Italia in Los Angeles in 2021, U.S. lifestyle hospitality group Noble 33 have launched Sparrow Mayfair. The menu is designed to transport you to the enchanting southern European coast, with a modern twist on traditional Italian and Mediterranean dishes.
The Vibe
The vibe is elegant, chic, exclusive, homely and utterly luxurious. Though Sparrow Italia originates in Los Angeles, a city with an entirely different vibe to London, the two restaurants are sisters in design—each representing their respective cities and countries. The Mayfair location is refined and sophisticated, with cool-toned blue walls and furniture, gold detailing, brown leather chairs, and houndstooth carpeting in one room.
Spread across three floors, Sparrow Mayfair features a ground-level brasserie, a terrace dining room on the indoor/outdoor first floor, a parlour dining room on the second floor, and a soon to be opened top floor cigar lounge. The restaurant’s design includes neutral tones with accents of emerald and blue, materials such as marble, tile insets, and wood, to give it that romantic coastal Italian and Mediterranean aesthetic.
The Menu
The menu includes fresh seafood, homemade pastas, and a selection of Mediterranean classics that exude bold flavours and high-quality, sustainable, and organic ingredients.
Menu highlights are Sparrow classics such as a salt crusted red snapper made for two served with crispy baby potatoes, Cacio e Pepe, served tableside from a Tuscan pecorino cheese wheel with parmesan and chitarra pasta, as well as Sparrow’s staple A5 Carpaccio, thinly sliced wagyu served with pickled mushrooms, umami aioli, and black truffles. One of the most tender and flavour packed carpaccio dishes you will ever have.
Exclusive dishes created for London include a Lobster Linguine, made with British lobster with an acqua pazza and lemon-parsley butter, Monkfish Livornaise served with manila clams, fresh tomatoes, wild cabbage, and brodo. Other notable London-exclusive menu additions include a red prawn carpaccio and caviar created with caviar, Amalfi lemon aioli, fresh Calabrian chilli, and olive oil.
What About the Drinks?
The food is complemented by adventurous mixology that uses fresh, seasonal ingredients and the finest spirits to craft dynamic cocktails all rooted in the flavours of Italy. Guests can enjoy Sparrow signature cocktails including: Basilicata made with Amaro Lucano, strawberry, Aperol, Campari, lemon, simple syrup, basil, and strawberry air and the Sicily made with blanco tequila, dry vermouth, lime, agave, orgeat, guava, Averna, bitters, torched rosemary air, absinthe, and fire. Those looking to be transported to the Italian coastline should try the Abruzzo made with Malfy blood orange gin, orange vermouth, amaro, walnut infused amaro abano, nocino, orange oil, and walnut smoke.
In a nutshell
Sparrow brings a high-energy fine dining experience to the London restaurant scene, with nightly entertainment including live DJs and musicians. There are many spaces to discover inside and who knows, you may even be invited to join the Noble 33 Members Club…
