True to its name, HIDE cleverly conceals itself from London’s buzz and hustle in Piccadilly—even the entrance looks hidden, with a large wooden door blending almost seamlessly into the wall. However, the moment you step inside, it’s a whole different world, with light streaming into its multi-floor plan opening onto Green Park’s serene views and a quirky staircase spiralling across. Simple yet sophisticated, and attentive yet informal, this is HIDE.

Led by chef Josh Angus, the same menu is served across both the ground and upper floors. Originally from Sheffield, Josh honed his craft by cooking locally as an apprentice, learning the basics before climbing up the culinary ladder. Over the past 17 years, he has worked in Michelin-starred kitchens and even earned HIDE its first star just six months after opening, eventually becoming the Group Executive Chef. For Josh, his passion lies in using only the best seasonal produce, meticulously sourced from trusted local suppliers—a philosophy that HIDE follows by the book as everything is made in-house—from charcuteries to breads, and even pickles.
HIDE Piccadilly in a few words? Amazing food, exceptional wine and drinks, and an incredibly comfortable atmosphere.

The A La Carte Menu
The food at HIDE Piccadilly has four guiding principles: simple, seasonal, nourishing and delicious.

To graze, start with Giarraffa green olives infused with garlic, lemon, and rosemary or get the freshly baked bread, including options like olive and rosemary focaccia and wild farmed malted baguette, served with whipped salted butter. For something heartier, try the soft-shell crab tempura with Thai basil and green peppercorns, or the charcoal-baked flatbread topped with lardo di Colonnata and black truffle. A signature dish of the restaurant is the nest egg. Imagine a kind of a custard like savoury egg, smoked butter, toasted mushrooms, and cream. Unbeatable.
A must order starter is the Cornish mackerel tartare with iced eucalyptus, a refreshing take on the classic, served surrounded by seaweed in a gorgeous tiger’s milk. The tartlet of this morning’s ricotta, adorned with dressed wild mushrooms and nasturtium is another hit. Warm and comforting, the sweetcorn agnolotti paired with barbecued cordyceps and a delicate chicken broth hits the spot. A star dish at HIDE, the Tartare of candy-stripe beetroot, Moscatel grapes & fig leaf granita has the right balance of earthiness and sweetness.

Then comes the larger plates where there’s plenty to choose from. If you like seafood, you’ll love the barbecued monkfish with glazed pumpkin and smoked peanut praline, or the delicate Brixham crab meat. Alternatively, the grilled octopus with tarama, confit potato, and fennel shavings stands out for its deep flavours.
The Aynhoe Park venison — a rich, gamey meat — comes with celeriac, pickled walnut, blackberries, and red wine jus. Sweet, smoky and savoury, you should also try the barbecued squab pigeon glazed with London honey and crushed spices. Look no further if you’re a steak lover, as the 50-day aged Lake District short-horn ribeye (600g) and the Kagoshima wagyu A4 striploin will leave you well-sated. On the side, you’ll have virgin rapeseed béarnaise, crispy potato cakes, baked shallots, and a salad of watercress, horseradish, and pickles.

For dessert, the must-have is the warm acorn cake. This is a showstopping celebration of pastry with smoked caramel and Cornish clotted cream. The cake is somewhere between a croissant, cake and heaven. Genius. Aromatic and delicate, the Earl Grey Custard comes with poached quince, honey wine, saffron, and cardamom. If you’d like a light and refreshing finish, get the pear sorbet with chervil syrup and toasted angelica seed.

Hedonism Wines and Drinks
Showcasing one of Europe’s largest wine lists, HIDE’s parent company, Hedonism Wines, curated its collection using its well-rooted expertise in sourcing the world’s finest wines since 2012. In fact, the boutique has become so renowned that it now boasts a collection of around 6,500 wines and 4,000 spirits. At HIDE, the list features a carefully curated, concise selection by the glass, enabling you to enjoy wine the hedonistic way—a philosophy that Hedonism Wines have championed since its inception. You can also explore the full range of the bottles’ selection digitally and have them delivered directly to your table within 15 minutes, including rare options dating back to the 18th century. You are sipping on history itself.

While you can enjoy the wine on any of HIDE’s floors, we recommend heading to the bar below for the cocktails, it’s all about a concealed and intimate experience. The Fifth Chamber is a rich blend of homemade Guinness cream liqueur and nutmeg, ideal for those who prefer something indulgent. Lighter and more refreshing, High Fidelity features Bombay Sapphire gin, Midi aperitivo, apricot, pear, sage, and sparkling wine. Another standout is Two Tickets to Paradise, combining Bombay Sapphire gin with olive, bay leaf, and lemon—zesty, aromatic, and incredibly smooth.

There’s Breakfast Also!
This is by far one of the most talked about breakfasts in London. From their viennoiseries, try their freshly baked selection, including buttery croissants, pain au chocolat, or the toasted brioche. For something savoury, the truffled scrambled eggs on toast, served with black or white truffle, combine fluffy texture with an earthy aroma. Decadent and crispy, the HIDE Croque Monsieur comes with the option to add a fried egg or truffle. The menu also includes fresh and seasonal fruits, enjoyed alone or paired with yoghurt, kaffir lime, or porridge.
