This week, London has welcomed a ravishing hub of hospitality to Mayfair, looking over Grosvenor Square: The Chancery Rosewood. The luxury hotel has finished its renovation and welcomed its guests for the first time on September 1st. The building’s significant architectural history, now restored by David Chipperfield, alongside its location in the heart of London’s luxury and art scene, Mayfair, are some of the reasons making the hotel an exciting opening. The property includes several luxury scenes such as eight restaurants and bars, spas, and communal spaces.
The Chancery Rosewood is a restoration project situated within the Grade II-listed, iconic former U.S. Embassy on Grosvenor Square, initially designed by the renowned architect Eero Saarinen in 1960. The new restoration is done by the starchitect Sir David Chipperfield, making the building a notable architectural masterpiece. Moreover, the main façade of the hotel, ornamented by the protected gilded eagle sculpture of Theodore Rosvak, overlooks the greenery of Grosvenor Square and offers a view of the London skyline.
The Eclectic Design
Upon entering the main façade, there is a striking interior design by the French designer, Joseph Dirand. The golden fixtures juxtaposed with the natural stone exterior invite the guests to a mix of modern and contemporary design, embracing the history with contemporary luxury. The distinctive angular design of the exterior façade, meeting the sleek and sophisticated interior, presents the hotel in an unparalleled fascination to its users. The experience of luxury, which is represented in the common areas, is amplified by the design of the 144 all-suite accommodations.

An All-Suite Property
The all-suite property currently offers several types of Junior Suites, Suites, Signature Suites and Houses, ranging in amenities, size, and furnishings, yet all offering unmatched levels of luxury and comfort to its guests. The Houses are the largest style of accommodation that the Chancery Rosewood offers, all above 180 square meters, offering a spacious visit.
The Houses provide space for entertaining, a private kitchen, and many more luxury services, accompanied by views of the iconic Hyde Park, Mayfair and the London skyline. The beautifully expansive Houses are named after prominent figures linked to the building, including Saarinen House, John Adams House, Kennedy House and the Chancery House. Many of the Signature Suites offer privacy, a spacious lounging area, and a wonderful view made possible by the floor-to-ceiling windows. The floor plans of the suites reimagine domestic living in the most luxurious and comfortable form.

The Junior suites are approximately 57 square meters; these suites still make comfort and luxury possible with less space. They provide a lounge area and a sleep area together aligned with large windows, only separated by small mullions. The suites are available both in twin suite configuration as well as the lavish double bed version. There are four different types of junior suites and five types of suites that the hotel offers to its guests. These suites are also designed by the renowned French interior designer Joseph Dirand. All suites have 24-hour services available, such as in-room dining, alongside concierge and laundry services.

Finetuned Hospitality: The Height of Comfort and Luxury
The luxury hospitality is innovated and fine-tuned by The Chancery Rosewood; its distinct services set them apart from many other spaces. Each stay includes flexible check-in and check-out hours, where the guests are individually welcomed and introduced to the property, offering a seamless, easy yet special arrival experience. Furthermore, guests accommodated in the Signature Suites and the Houses all have a private butler service.
The property also functions as a vibrant scene for creative exchange, inspiration and connection. Designed with the flexibility to host events of all sizes, the hotel provides the stage to host events and celebrations from small, intimate ceremonies to large industry events. These areas include a state-of-the-art Grand Ballroom with a guest capacity of 750 people, two salons, a foyer, a Pavilion Bar and Lounge providing several spaces to utilise.
The Art Scene
The Chancery Rosewood offers the eclectic art scene of Mayfair within the beautiful luxury. The property is home to an impressive art program curated by London-based consultancy Cramer & Bell, featuring over 700 works that span media, styles, and eras. The extensive collection combines commissions from leading names such as Sir Christopher Le Brun, whose painting presides above the main fireplace, and textile artist Sussy Cazalet, whose work animates the Entrance Hall. In the guest suites, artist Anthony Grace contributes 278 surrealist collages inspired by American landmarks, historic presidents, and the visionary designs of Eero Saarinen—together creating a layered narrative that weaves architecture, luxury design and hospitality.

The Dining Experiences
The hotel debuts eight exceptional restaurants providing its guests with a wide selection of culinary experiences with each restaurant’s distinct personality and globally celebrated dining, including the cult favourite Carbone. Each restaurant and bar is located at ground level, drawing Mayfair’s neighbourhood energy inside while inviting guests to explore.

SERRA channels the warmth of the Mediterranean with dishes that echo the coastal traditions of southern Italy and Greece. They embrace family-style dining. The restaurant is perfect for trying mezzes, seafood and rustic pastas. JACQUELINE, imagined by Executive Pastry Chef Marius Dufay, redefines the tearoom through sculptural desserts infused with seasonality and scent. JACQUELINE takes traditional teatime with a curated collection of over a hundred distinctive teas. TOBI MASA introduces London to the mastery of Masayoshi ‘Masa’ Takayama, one of the most influential figures in Japanese cuisine.
They are the geniuses behind three-Michelin-starred restaurants, and the guests can experience a journey through the Chef’s inspirations at the Omakase counter. Moreover, the restaurant is perfect to enjoy an expertly crafted cocktail and Otsumami bites at the bar. For more casual moments, GSQ serves as a refined deli on Grosvenor Square, offering coffee, pastries, and seasonal plates to take away or, in aperitivo hour, sit with friends. On the rooftop, the Eagle Bar, which takes its name from the iconic sculpture, crowns the hotel with sweeping views, a vinyl-led soundtrack, inventive cocktails, and an atmosphere that balances sophistication with discovery.

Wellness with Care
In addition to a vibrant dining scene, The Chancery Rosewood also offers an advanced wellness spa. Asaya® Spa is a sanctuary of wellness designed by Yabu Pushelberg that redefines the concept of urban escape. Guests can also experience exclusive treatments such as MoodsPro’s science-led aromatherapy massages, including the signature NeuroFusion technique, designed to harmonise muscular and nervous systems.
