This autumn, The Bloomsbury Club transforms into a gallery-meets-cocktail lounge with ‘The Artist Series’, a three-month celebration of art, craftsmanship, and cocktails in partnership with Maestro Dobel Tequila. Running until 3rd January 2026, the series masterminded by bar manager and industry legend Antonio Papariello showcases creativity alongside a bold new cocktail menu, honouring artistic expression and tequila heritage.

The Cultural Legacy of Tequila: More Than Just a Spirit
Tequila holds a sacred place in Mexican culture; it’s not just a drink; it’s representation, heritage, and pride distilled into a bottle. For too long, the global market has been flooded with poor-quality brands that fail to capture the essence of tequila. Maestro Dobel is changing that narrative. This ultra-luxury tequila embodies the pinnacle of the spirit; smooth, complex, and worthy of being savoured ice-cold and neat, the way it’s enjoyed in Mexican homes. As someone who grew up with tequila culture, I can tell you: Maestro Dobel is exceptional. It’s the kind of tequila that makes you slow down, appreciate the craft, and understand why we celebrate it so deeply in Mexico.
This collaboration at The Bloomsbury Club is so special because it’s redefining how tequila is perceived beyond Mexico’s borders. Through innovative cocktails and immersive experiences, Maestro Dobel is expanding the conversation around tequila, showing the world that this spirit deserves the same reverence and sophistication as any aged whisky or vintage wine. The events are for everyone who values culture, heritage, and innovation.

A Story Worth Sipping: The Art of Luxury Tequila
There’s something intimate about sharing tequila. It’s storytelling in liquid form; every barrel, every agave plant, every distillation choice tells a piece of Mexico’s story. Maestro Dobel has always been passionate about innovation, and they celebrate creativity across disciplines. Historically, they’ve partnered with world-renowned artists to elevate the cultural conversation around their craft, and this collaboration continues that legacy. London-based fashion illustrator and print designer Helen Bullock, celebrated for her bold, hand-drawn aesthetic, is at the heart of this partnership.
Her vibrant works will be displayed throughout The Bloomsbury Club during the series, creating a stunning visual backdrop for cocktails, masterclasses, and live music. Helen’s art echoes the spirit of Maestro Dobel itself: colourful, dynamic, and unapologetically expressive. At The Bloomsbury Club, this story unfolds through a curated experience where art meets spirit, inviting people into a deeper appreciation of what makes tequila extraordinary. It’s an invitation to see tequila not as a party shot, but as a sipping experience worthy of contemplation, conversation, and celebration.

Art-Inspired & Tequila-Based Cocktails
Each cocktail on the new menu reimagines Maestro Dobel’s pioneering Cristalino tequila production process: crystal-clear, colourless serves that surprise with vibrant, complex flavours.
Velour is a nutty blend of Maestro Dobel Diamante, vermouth, cacao, hazelnut milk, and cardamom bitters, clarified as a milk punch and garnished with an ‘Artist Palette’ shortbread biscuit with three individual flavours on top. Our favourite was the matcha!
Shior Bloom is a sparkling, citrus-umami mix of Maestro Dobel Diamante with pink grapefruit and white miso, clarified with Greek yoghurt and finished with cucumber ‘air’.
The Maestro Dobel Journey brings you on a guided tasting flight of three exceptional expressions, from the smooth clarity of Dobel 50 Cristalino to the aged richness of Dobel 50 1973 edition.
While I recommend always enjoying Maestro Dobel ice-cold and neat, the way it’s meant to be savoured, these creative cocktails offer a fresh, innovative way to experience the brand. This forward-thinking approach is helping expand tequila’s presence in global markets, showing audiences that ultra-premium tequila deserves a place at the table alongside the world’s finest spirits.
