In the gilded halls of Harrods, beneath the shimmer of crystal and the hum of quiet anticipation, a British icon has returned. This autumn, VERTU, the name once synonymous with handcrafted luxury phones, unveils Agent Q, a creation that pushes the boundaries of what a telephone can be.
The rebirth of VERTU is not merely a comeback but the inauguration of a new paradigm in refined technology, quiet luxury. Here, strength and sensitivity coexist; artificial intelligence is not a spectacle but a servant.
A White Falcon Reimagined
Vertu draws inspiration from the rare White Falcon to embody attributes of precision, poise and independence. Agent Q is sculptural and tactile, merging titanium engineering with white leather and 18-karat gold detailing, handcrafted in the United Kingdom. Every device carries the signature of its individual craftsman, preserving Vertu’s tradition of bespoke construction.
From the first touch, it feels closer to an instrument of purpose than a gadget. Its curves, textures and weight communicate deliberate balance, power married to presence.
Visually, Agent Q evokes silent force. The contrast of crisp white leather, brushed titanium, and gold accents is reminiscent of a bird in motion. Contours are purposeful, sleek yet grounded; the ruby key, now reinterpreted as Ruby Talk, remains a hallmark, softly glowing beneath the surface. In the hand, the device feels resolute and reassuringly solid.
Luxury in Motion: The Intelligence Within
At the core of Agent Q is VAOS, the Vertu Agent Operating System, which transforms intent into action. Vertu positions Agent Q as the world’s first AI Agent Phone, trading app-based interactions for autonomous execution. The device interprets high-level commands, such as organising travel or preparing presentations, by orchestrating a network of specialised AI agents under a single cognitive framework.
Vertu has outlined four cognitive engines underpinning VAOS: perception, memory, planning and execution. Over 200 agents can collaborate across domains such as finance, logistics and messaging, transforming the device into a living ecosystem of intelligence.
Security is central to the design. Agent Q employs edge AI, keeping reasoning and data local. Its triple-system architecture isolates environments (personal, confidential, professional) and uses hardware-level encryption, sandboxed agents and encrypted communication layers. According to Vertu, sensitive data never needs to leave the device, a bold claim positioning privacy as true luxury.
A Return to Craft, a Leap into the Future
Intelligence alone is not enough; design and performance must match. Agent Q features a mechanical zoom lens, Vertu claims it is the first smartphone to do so, centred on a 35mm focal length to offer a human-eye style of photography. The body is crafted from titanium, white alligator leather and 18K gold inlays, carrying forward Vertu’s signature materials. The Ruby Key has evolved into Ruby Talk, serving as an entry point to the AI ecosystem.
Under the hood, Agent Q operates on a Snapdragon 8 Elite Supreme chipset (3nm), paired with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. This hardware supports seamless execution of AI tasks, human concierge integration and encrypted workflows via the Vertu Productivity Suite.
A New Chapter for British Luxury
Vertu’s return is as much an assertion of identity as a product launch. Agent Q stands at the confluence of heritage and innovation. Born in Britain, built with rare materials, and powered by autonomous intelligence, the design offers a counterpoint to uniform smartphones. It restores the intimacy between maker and machine, reminding us that technology should elevate human purpose, not dominate it.
In the modern landscape where devices merge into sameness, Agent Q stakes a claim: it is not merely a phone but an evolving companion built to listen, respond and act on your behalf.
Where to Experience Agent Q
Agent Q is now available for in-person demonstrations at Harrods, London, marking Vertu’s official re-entry to the UK. Vertu’s roadmap includes bespoke editions, custom commissions through Vertu Atelier, and expanded global rollout in 2026.
With Agent Q, Vertu aims to lead a new conversation about modern luxury; one that fuses intelligence, individuality and artistry. It is not simply a phone. It is the future, hand-built, gold-crowned and designed to execute.
