Hotel at Home #8: SCENTS AND SMELLS
You are all scrubbed and comfortable. Here are a couple of ideas to create that unique luxury hotel smell that brings back all those memories.
Johnson & White – This exclusive home fragrance brand comes from two sisters who have created a range of luxury candles and aromas inspired by London, Dubai, New York and Bali. They have worked with perfumers to get the scents just right and it shows. The Bali scent has a calming lavender and eucalyptus heart with a woody spice and ginger base. These are proper British made high quality products – the candle is made with top end mineral wax and eco cotton wick for a clean burn and scent experience.

No1 Park Lane Candle – The InterContinental London Park Lane actually has its own scent all around the hotel. It’s the details that count. You can take this smell home in the form of a No. 1 Park Lane Candle – a luxurious floral scent you can enjoy all day. Available to buy at the hotel.
Hotel at Home #9: THE MINI BAR
A critical staple of any hotel room. Forget crisps and a can of Coke. A well stocked mini bar says a lot about a hotel. Hotel 41 take this to the next level and provide all day complimentary luxury snacking and a full on late night plunder the pantry spread. Here are our mini bar staples:
Bloody Mary – The UK’s first premixed Bloody Mary in a can! And this is a proper Blood Mary. Vodka brings the booze and a dash of Amontillado sherry helps adjoin the vodka and tomatoes with a rich mineral fruitiness. Pickle juice and lemon add the tanginess and Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco and a dash of soy give a rich umami base. And it’s only 130 calories a can.

A great whisky – A single malt is called for and The Cardona Just Hatched single malt is a rather special natural cask strength liquid which comes in at a whopping 64.4% ABV. The name comes from the fact that it’s been bottled at three years old, the age of consent in the whisky world for it to legally be called a whisky. This weighty young whisky packs some rather complex flavours as it is matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks so you can taste borage flower honey, vanilla and spice with a long finish of malty cereal.
