Imagine waking up to the sound of waves gently crashing on the shore, with the sun rising over a picturesque landscape. This is the daily reality at the Cali Resort & Spa in Paphos, Cyprus – the newly built 5-star gem brought to you by the fabulous Louis Hotels group. This luxurious destination offers not only stunning views over the Mediterranean Sea and opulent accommodations but also a gastronomic odyssey and an elite spa – the perfect getaway for relaxation and indulgence. Uniquely the resort has the enticement of an exclusive adult-only beach club vibe whilst only being moments away from local villages and stunning beaches, making it effortless to explore this enviable part of the island.

Designed exclusively for adults, the resort offers two pools, two restaurants, two bars and a luxury spa. Taken from the Greek word ‘Kallos’ meaning ‘most beautiful’, the resort is a fitting ode to its name nestled in a privileged location just 300m from the famous Blue Flag Coral Bay Beach with stunning views across the Mediterranean Sea.

The Hotel & Rooms
Choose from 201 airy, light-filled contemporary rooms and suites. Cool down in the 47-metre freshwater pool or catch some rays on the luxury sunbeds and sunken in-pool loungers. Unwind and be pampered in the luxury Spa with a range of relaxing and rejuvenating treatments, a heated indoor pool, steam room, sauna, and relaxation area.
From the moment we stepped into the hotel, I was welcomed by a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff are dedicated to making every visitor feel special, this attention to detail sets the tone for a memorable stay. The vast lobby combines contemporary sumptuousness with traditional Cypriot earthy tones. Elements of artwork and divine sculpture are showcased within a modern auditorium which creates a unique and impressive environment.

Sometimes the only word to truly describe something is “Wow!” Opening the doors to our balcony, we were hit by the stunning panorama of Coral Bay. The glistening waters of teals and greens appeared never-ending. Lush vegetation and sloping hills framed our view, which felt as if it were there for our private enjoyment.
Every one of the 201 rooms treats its guests to these magnificent rooms, which in my opinion are worth travelling for alone. Our room was spacious and modern with every facility you could wish for. Unctuous and cool marbles made for the perfect combination of relaxed sophistication. Everybody deserves a luxurious bed on holiday, you certainly won’t be disappointed here.

The Pool
Without a doubt, the highlight of the resort is its magnificent 47 ft pool. Don your sexiest swimwear and get into the cabana lifestyle. Loungers are so comfortable they are more akin to day beds, some even are immersed in the pool so you can dip your toes in. Plenty of room for all, so you can be as social or as secluded as you wish.

An extensive snack menu is there to entice and fresh fruit is brought to all in the afternoons. Calista keeps you hydrated all day with an impressive cocktail menu – I couldn’t resist having a daily piña colada.
Dining
Dining at the Cali Resort & Spa is an experience in itself. The resort features two restaurants that offer a range of cuisines, from traditional Cypriot dishes to international favourites. The main restaurant, Aria, serves a delicious breakfast buffet, featuring fresh fruits, pastries, and local specialties, as well as lunch. For dinner, the themed buffet nights allow guests to explore different culinary delights, with show cooking stations and a different culinary theme each evening. The outdoor terrace provides an incredible setting for a romantic dinner under the stars, with the sound of the waves creating a soothing backdrop.

Fiki, the Japanese fusion a la carte restaurant offers a more intimate dining experience, perfect for couples. Delicate sushi and pungent stir-fries are complemented by lychee martinis. Make sure to sample the gyoza! With a tasteful nod to the Orient in its decor, this open-air restaurant is perfect for a romantic evening.

Fancy an after-dinner cocktail? Come and enjoy Sonata, the resort’s indoor bar and terrace. Cocktails flow of the same calibre as any London bar.
The evenings at Cali Resort & Spa are filled with entertainment options. The resort hosts live music, dance performances, and themed parties, creating a lively atmosphere for guests to enjoy. Whether it is dancing the night away or simply watching others, there is always something happening at the resort.

The Spa
For those who prefer relaxation, the spa at Cali Resort Cyprus is a true haven. With a variety of treatments, including massages, facials, and body scrubs, visitors can indulge in a day of pampering. The skilled therapists use natural products that reflect the beauty and essence of Cyprus. A signature treatment, the Mediterranean Sea Salt Scrub, leaves the skin fresh and rejuvenated. After a day of relaxation, couples can connect and unwind in the sauna or take a dip in the unique indoor pool, which evokes the magic of a cave, synonymous with the local terrain.

I opted for a head and back massage to melt away my aches and pains, although, after only a day at Cali Resort Cyprus, I was already left with none. A head massage can turn a stressful day into a moment of pure bliss. Imagine sinking into a world of relaxation, where worries fade away with every gentle touch on the scalp. With its calming effects and ability to improve overall well-being, you’d be remiss not to try it.

The Local Area
Paphos
One of the most impressive aspects of Paphos is its rich history. The city is home to UNESCO World Heritage Sites. I highly recommend going to marvel at the well-preserved Roman mosaics. These colourful artworks depict scenes from mythology and daily life, giving a glimpse into the past. Walking through the ruins of ancient villas and the impressive tombs of the kings, I felt connected with the history of Cyprus uniquely. The hotel is only too happy to arrange a guided tour for you.
Coral Bay
Imagine stepping into a world where the sun kisses the sea, and the air is filled with the soothing sound of waves. Coral Bay just moments from the hotel offers a beautiful escape for anyone seeking a taste of Cypriot beach culture. This stunning destination stands out for its breathtaking scenery, rich cultural experiences, and vibrant marine life; you might even be lucky to spot a sea turtle. The golden sands and crystal-clear waters create an ideal setting for sunbathing and swimming. We were recommended to have a nighttime skinny dip but I think our Britishness failed us, but please be braver than me. The local seaside taverns serve delicious traditional dishes you can savour while watching the glorious sunset.
Peiya
At the foot of the hotel, you find the fun and vibrant village of Peiya, which overlooks the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean. With its stunning views, delicious food, and warm community, it offers a unique experience worth exploring. Dine at one of the dozens of restaurants and feast on fresh seafood, listen to some traditional guitar music and immerse yourself into the welcoming village mindset.
