London’s theatre season has gained a new culinary companion this winter, as The Kensington Hotel teams up with Cirque du Soleil to mark the arrival of OVO at the Royal Albert Hall. Just moments from the venue, Town House — the hotel’s elegant restaurant — has launched a bespoke pre-theatre dining menu designed to mirror the imagination, colour and curiosity of the world-renowned production.
Running throughout OVO’s London residency until 1 March 2026, the menu offers a refined yet playful way to begin the evening, pairing thoughtful cooking with one of the capital’s most visually arresting live shows.
Where Fine Dining Meets Cirque du Soleil OVO
OVO — meaning “egg” in Portuguese — is a vibrant, insect-inspired Cirque du Soleil production built around a mysterious egg that sparks wonder, movement and transformation. At its heart is a charming love story between a playful fly and a spirited ladybird, brought to life through aerial silks, Chinese poles, trampoline walls, contortion, slackwire and a pulsating Brazilian-inspired soundtrack.
That same sense of movement and discovery underpins Town House’s pre-theatre menu. Rather than simply offering a convenient dining option before the show, the restaurant has created a culinary experience that feels like an extension of the performance itself — imaginative, light-hearted and thoughtfully executed.
A Menu Inspired by Curiosity, Creativity and Transformation
The three-course pre-theatre menu is anchored by two exclusive OVO-inspired dishes created especially for the experience by Executive Chef Isabela Vaz. The egg — the symbolic centrepiece of the show — takes on a starring role, reinterpreted with both elegance and whimsy.
The starter places the humble egg at its heart, paired with salt-baked Jerusalem artichoke purée, Iberico ham and winter leaves. It is a dish that feels grounded yet playful, balancing richness with freshness while nodding directly to the show’s central motif.
Dessert delivers the theatrical flourish: OVO itself — a plum and grape white chocolate egg. Sculptural and joyful, it arrives as a sweet finale that mirrors the anticipation of curtain-up just moments later.
Alongside the food, you can choose from a curated drinks selection including wines, Champagne, cocktails and refined non-alcoholic options, ensuring the experience feels celebratory without ever becoming rushed.

Inside Cirque du Soleil OVO at the Royal Albert Hall
Cirque du Soleil productions are known for their ability to transform familiar spaces into immersive worlds, and OVO is no exception. Staged at the Royal Albert Hall, the show fills the iconic venue with colour, movement and sound, celebrating biodiversity, community and the joy of curiosity through acrobatics and storytelling.
The proximity of Town House to the Royal Albert Hall makes the pairing seamless. A short walk takes guests from the calm, polished surroundings of The Kensington straight into the high-energy spectacle of OVO, creating a sense of contrast that heightens both experiences.
Executive Chef Isabela Vaz’s Playful Take on the Egg
Chef Isabela Vaz’s approach to the menu reflects a deep understanding of balance — respecting the technical precision expected of a five-star hotel restaurant while embracing the sense of fun and imagination that defines Cirque du Soleil.
Her interpretation of the egg feels deliberate rather than literal. It is not novelty for novelty’s sake, but a thoughtful translation of the show’s themes into flavour, texture and presentation. The result is a menu that feels light, seasonal and expressive — perfectly suited to an evening built around creativity and performance.
An Elegant Start to an Evening of Culture and Performance
What makes this experience particularly compelling is its restraint. Town House does not attempt to compete with the spectacle of OVO, but instead complements it. The dining room offers a moment of calm sophistication — a space to settle, savour and prepare — before stepping into the fantastical energy of the show.
It is an evening designed for those who value both craft and culture: an unhurried meal, a short walk, and then a world-class performance. In a city where pre-theatre dining can often feel transactional, this partnership brings a sense of occasion back to the ritual.
For a limited time only
The OVO pre-theatre menu is priced at a reasonable £36 per person for three courses and is available for dinner between 5pm and 7pm ahead of evening performances at the Royal Albert Hall. The menu runs throughout OVO’s London engagement, until 1 March.
