Today is the day I get my butt back with a Lanluma treatment. I wake with a mixture of nerves and excitement as I arrive at The Lovely Clinic situated along the border of Knightsbridge and South Kensington. What I like about The Lovely Clinic is that their number one goal is to create the best possible version of you. This holistic approach combines state of the art treatments and precision-perfect expertise of experienced doctors. Of course it does not hurt that the neighbours are Chanel, Isabel Marrant and Andipa Art gallery who are a haven of glorious visuals. This sets the tone for my Sunday morning treatment.
What is it?
Lanluma is a new ground-breaking wonder product. It is a bio stimulating dermal filler that can be used for so many areas where we naturally lose collagen, as we age this innovative filler reshapes and activates natural collagen production. It is often referred to as the holy grail, needless say I was intrigued to say the least.
It is made from (PLLA) poly-Lactic-acid these particles get to work deep within the skin creating volume that enhances your bodies natural curves and contour. I can safely say this product delivers. With minimal down time, the result last for up to 2 years gradually emerging over 2-3 months after treatment.
It can be used on the face, upper arms thighs, hands, décolletage and buttocks. I have opted for the buttocks as from I have researched, I am about to gain the peachy bottom that I was once the proud owner of.
Before the treatment
The Lovely Clinic arranged for me to complete all the necessary forms online, I also had to create a 3D profile in preparation for my consultation, usually I would be daunted by doing everything online, but I can honestly say the The Lovely Clinic team made this process so easy and dare I say fun!
Dr Sarah Tonks and Dr Euan Mackinnon
A Zoom consolation followed with the utterly talented Dr Sarah Tonks who I have watched on TV shows and read numerous reviews about. She was incredibly detailed and really put me at ease as she explained the treatment process.
Sarah explained the treatment options and we discuss the areas of my body I would like to improve on. I am so humbled by how down to earth she is and super knowledgeable. Sarah explained the procedure in a way that was so easy to understand, we discuss my lack of volume which I once had in my bottom. I take off jeans. “Ok Zoey she responds you’re a particularly good candidate for buttocks being enhanced.”
The treatment
I am booked in with Dr Euan Mackinnon and what a delight he is. Warm, friendly and puts me at ease instantly. Dr Euan talks me through everything he will doing during the procedure.
Feeling a little pinch, Dr Euan administers a local anaesthetic to numb the areas being treated. He then administers the Lanluma product through a cannula (a tube that can be inserted for the delivery of or removal of fluid).
“Ok Zoey we are achieving lovely volume” he said. I smile inwardly like the cat who got the cream. Dr Euan keeps checking in to see how I am doing.
Dr Euan then explains that he wants to see the shape so whilst I am standing, he marks where he feels needs a little more contouring and I am then back onto the bed. Dr Euan is a true maestro who clearly loves getting the best results. The treatment is all over within one hour.
I then had full post procedure chat. Dr Euan explained I will have some bruising and my bottom will be a little swollen, this will go down in a couple of days … my heart soars and I absolutely love the results already!
Within approximately 6 weeks my natural collagen will start to work with the Lanluma and will look just peachy, especially after having two kids. The most fab thing about this treatment is that it is non-invasive yet gives you the results the lady of my age really does dream of.

After care – massage, massage, massage
I am in a little pain but a couple of paracetamols and a look in mirror at the results really helps with this. Massaging is paramount with this procedure as you want it to be as smooth as possible. It is super important to set an alarm twice a day to remind yourself to massage the area for 10 minutes at a time for around a week or so.
The day after
Today I am still a little bruised as I knew I would be. It was uncomfortable to sleep but overall it feels much better today. I just cannot stop looking at my perked bottom in the mirror, as I apply a little moisturiser to do my mandatory massage. I ensure I am doing the massaging exactly as I was shown. I do not want to get any bumps or nodules so it is vital to massage the area to prevent this from happening.
The results
Well, I really do feel so much more confident thanks to the team at The Lovely Clinic. As you can see from the photos, this girl is perked and ready to go! I am truly overwhelmed at what the Lanluma treatment achieved in less than hour and these results I am looking at today.
Would I do it again?
Yes! It lasts for up to 2 years so when I require a top up I would surely have no reservations to do it again.
