This July, London will welcome a first-of-its-kind cultural celebration, where petrol meets palette, chrome meets canvas, and rebellion meets sophistication. Welcome to MotoArto 2025.

Rewriting the Rules of Art and Automotives
From 3–5 July 2025, Shoreditch’s industrially elegant Bike Shed will be transformed into the beating heart of a new movement: MotoArto, the world’s first dedicated platform for automotive art. A combination of reimagined vehicles, contemporary masterpieces, kinetic sculpture and live artistry is what you will find. More than just a car show, this immersive exhibition is a manifesto of creative freedom, a love letter to art and a celebration of the ever-blurring line between machine and masterpiece.

A Union of Passion and Friendship
MotoArto was born out of a shared obsession with creativity and a lack of conformity. At its heart are two creative powerhouses: Marchella De Angelis and Kim Shaylor.

Meet Marchella de Angelis
A true polymath. Born in Malaysia and raised in London, her career spans music, design, hospitality and film. From co-founding Shoreditch’s iconic Lounge Lover to launching the daring Cotswolds88 hotel and designing a wallpaper collection archived by the Victoria & Albert Museum, she has long been a champion of fearless creativity. Her love of cars and fascination with Outlaw car culture started when she was eight years old and led her to produce The Outlaw in Me in 2024, an award-nominated documentary exploring the soul of modified car culture. That same love now fuels MotoArto, a vision years in the making.

Meet Kim Shaylor
The driving force behind Gone Rogue, a globally recognised curatorial collective known for bringing contemporary art to the world’s most luxurious spaces. Since 2018, Shaylor has overseen more than 40 exhibitions, collaborating with everyone from McLaren to Sushi Samba, ME Ibiza to Fortnum & Mason. Her ethos? Art should challenge, connect and inspire. At MotoArto, she is bringing that approach to the tarmac, spotlighting artists who do not normally work in the automotive world and giving them the licence to reimagine it.
Together, they saw a gap in the market and, more importantly, in the culture. “The future is Outlaw,” as De Angelis would say, referring to the growing global community of artists and builders who transform custom cars and bikes into rolling expressions of individuality and personalisation. MotoArto gives these artists a platform in London. It is a new and revolutionary kind of event and the first dedicated platform to recognise and elevate this niche segment.

Immersion, Not Exhibition: MotoArto 2025
This event is much more than an exhibition—it goes beyond the surface. It is an immersion into a new sense of reality. From live performance painting on a Porsche Macan Electric by the inimitable Sophie Tea, to world premieres of modified engineering masterpieces by Thornley Kelham, Frontline Cars, Renard, and Langen—this is an event for the experience-seekers and cultural tastemakers alike.
Do not get it wrong, this is not meant to criticise the classics. As De Angelis rightly says, “I’m not bored with the classics, and I still love a supercar. I simply feel it’s time to embrace a wider cultural medium within the automotive arena.” This change in attitude may well be linked to the contemporary desire to express, to get recognition and to individualise in a social media-driven age.

Among the most anticipated highlights is Sophie Tea’s transformation of the Porsche Macan Electric into her biggest canvas yet with an immersive live painting experience over the three-day exhibition. During the event, pop-star icon Sophie Tea will transform the recently launched Porsche Macan Electric into her largest canvas yet.
Another striking partnership between Maxim, surrealist artist and frontman of The Prodigy, a renowned British band, and Renard, the Estonian artisanal motorcycle manufacturer. Together they unveil a one-of-a-kind motorbike, priced at £100,000. The Maxim and Renard collaboration is sure to deliver an emotional fusion of sound, speed, and surrealism.

British pop-art icon Pure Evil brings his trademark energy and pop art style to a classic VW Beetle, transforming its iconic hood shape into a canvas that explores the nostalgia, rebellion, and colour of pop art.

Celebrated sculptor Emma Gibbons, known for her glitter-pill, pop artworks, will unveil her new series Addicted to Speed, featuring dazzling pink resin sculptures of Porsche’s supercars fused with her signature glitter techniques.

The renowned sculptural artist Debra Frances reimagines her cult Art Bags series with the new Transport collection. Think luxury handbags with wheels – a truly iconic design.
To round up this diverse immersive experience, the event will also feature legendary artists such as Alistair Morrison, Eelco, Paul Fuentes and more. Each creator brings a unique voice and visual expression that commemorates the beautiful and powerful culture of automotive.

The Drivers, the Creative Engines
The event will bring together more than 20 leading and emerging artists to produce never-before-seen works that reimagine car culture, free from creative constraints. The artist line-up reads like a roll call of modern mavericks:
-
Maxim: best known as a founding member of The Prodigy. Maxim channels raw emotion into surreal, mixed-media works that challenge perception and ignite imagination.
-
Emma Gibbons: the glittering queen of pop art. Gibbons creates dazzling, miniature worlds with a dark edge, collected by celebrities and exhibited worldwide.
-
Sophie Tea: social media powerhouse and voice of body positivity. Tea’s vibrant, splattered nudes celebrate the female form and self-love in bold technicolour.
-
Alistair Morrison: renowned portrait photographer with over 80 works in the National Portrait Gallery. Morrison captures legacy and truth through timeless visual storytelling.
-
Paul Fuentes: Mexican-born and London-based. Fuentes blends pop surrealism and pastel wit, crafting humorous mashups that turn the everyday into pure escapism.
And this is just the beginning of what is to come. Whether you’re drawn to surreal sculptures, edgy graphics or motion-based installations, MotoArto’s creative range is breathtaking. And be sure that there is something for every taste.

Art Everyone Can Drive
MotoArto is not just about viewing—it’s about experiencing. Bridging the gap between gallery and garage, limited-edition prints, special commissions, and artist collaborations will be available for purchase throughout the event.
The event’s philosophy is rooted in inclusivity and accessibility, with tickets priced at £10 across the board and a welcoming approach to collectors, first-timers, and the simply curious. It invites not only the elite, but also the next generation of collectors; people who value individualism, authenticity and emotion over tradition.

A New Chapter Is About to Start: DAY EVENT
MotoArto does not ask for permission, it makes a statement. It disrupts the polished norms of the gallery and the garage, blurring them and inviting you to explore something that feels excitingly undefined.
It is a show for the rule-breakers, the creative, the quietly obsessed and the visually curious. Are you one of them?
The event will take place at The Bike Shed in Shoreditch. With inclusion as a core value, MotoArto offers accessibility at a range of price points to ensure that this innovative cultural experience is available to a wider audience.
The event will open with a preview on Wednesday 2 July from 6 PM to 8 PM, and will be followed by three days open to the public:
- Thursday 3 July from 11 AM to 6 PM.
- Friday 4 July from 11 AM to 8 PM.
- Saturday 5 July from 10:30 AM to 6 PM.
