A new anti-ageing, skin rejuvenation procedure has hit the UK with the help of highly esteemed Medical Aesthetic Consultant Dr Anoob Pakkar-Hull. The process involves a complex formula known as ‘Purasomes’ and offers a less-invasive alternative to other treatments on the market, with potentially long lasting results.
The UK aesthetic industry is booming with increasingly new products and bespoke personalised treatments — keeping up with the growing desire to look great naturally. Last year, over 30,000 cosmetic procedures were performed in Britain, which is a 102% rise from the previous year, according to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Purasomes offer a less invasive, fairly low-maintenance approach to regenerating the skin.

The Process
Many Purasome procedures call for different measures; however, Dr Pakkar-Hull and his team first begin the process by micro-needling, which improves the skin’s texture and appearance. The needle for this process is a millimetre long, minimising discomfort for the patient.
After the skin barrier is broken by the needle, the Purasome formula is applied — reaching the target area quickly and effectively. From there, the fibroblasts — which are the building blocks for collagen — stimulate new blood vessels and improve the skin. It doesn’t hurt but you may be red after the treatment. Three to four treatments are recommended, with an interval of three to five weeks between each session. Treatments start at £500 for each session.

The Results
The treatment thickens the skin — leading to fewer fine lines, skin hydration, a decrease in pigmentation, and better texture and tone. Once the Purasomes are in place, results typically begin to show in 30 to 60 days as the regenerative product stimulates cell growth. However, patients can see the results of microneedling within weeks after the treatment. After the first session, 20% of patients start to see an increase in skin thickness after the first treatment, according to Dr Pakkar-Hull.
Dermoaroma produces three different Purasome serums — targeted for each desire. The first, the SGC100+ Skin Glow Complex uses a series of brightening agents and antioxidants. The serum promotes an even skin tone and rejuvenates, brightens, and shields the skin from environmental damage — forming a long-lasting protective barrier. 74% of patients saw a melanin synthesis decrease after sun radiation.
The second formula, NC150+ Nutri Complex regenerates damaged skin, renews cells, reduces water loss, and restores the proteins in the skin. It also promotes new blood vessel formation, which supplies the skin with nutrients and oxygen. With this treatment, twenty-two per cent of patients saw an improvement in skin thickness in four weeks.
The third serum, HSC50+ Hair and Scalp Complex is formulated to create optimal conditions for hair regrowth. The liquid targets hair follicles and stimulates hair elongation while restoring scalp health and soothing irritation after seven days.

The Serum
Although new to the UK, the Purasome serum, produced by Italian brand, Dermoaroma is available in 44 countries. The formula comes from exosomes in bovine colostrum, a milky fluid originating from a cow’s udder the first few days after birth.
This powerful liquid has 100 times the antibodies in cow’s milk and has many uses in the medical field, including fighting disease-causing bacteria and viruses. The formula has more growth factors than human cells and hosts nano vesicles layered with fat to help penetrate the skin barrier while carrying the nutrients that aid rapid rejuvenation.
Dermoaroma developed the serum over nine years with the ambition to produce effective, safe, sustainable and ethically sourced therapy that enhances natural healing processes within the body. Although exosome treatment is new to the UK market, treatments similar to this have been around for over 20 years. The technology has since demonstrated safety in multidisciplinary applications and obtained 14 patents in the Regenerative Medicine and Aesthetics field.
