The new Ferrari Portofino M is not only elegant and stylish in its design but is an easy and comfortable drive for anyone wanting to do some exploration around the countryside and spice up their weekends, road trips, or even just a Monday as I decided to do.
Driving through the idyllic Cotswold countryside you may normally hear the charming sounds of animals bleating and mooing in the distance, tractors working away in their fields and horses gracefully trotting down the roads. What you might not be used to hearing, is the roar of a Ferrari making it’s way through the winding country roads.
First impressions
When I first saw this beast of a car, I could tell it was going to be a lot of fun to drive from the sleek look, convertible roof and because, let’s be honest, it’s a Ferrari. When I got into the car, I sank into the leather seat and instantly felt ready to take this car on.
Inside the Ferrari Portofino M
To start, you can adjust every inch of the seat and in every direction too, which allowed me to create the most comfortable driving experience for me as an individual. This was just one of the luxurious personal touches the car has which makes you as the driver and owner feel special and valued and realise this isn’t your average car. The sun started to shine so we knew we had to take advantage and have the roof down for our drive. The seats have neck warmers in them that you can individually control, so no matter the weather there really is no excuse to get the roof down and the wind in your hair.
Driving the Ferrari Portofino M
As we started our journey for the day, you could instantly tell that the car was a dream to drive. This meant we could simply sit back, relax and enjoy the experience of gliding through the roads and exploring the great outdoors. It was a smooth drive on all the roads we encountered from motorways to single track lanes. They have also made this car easy to manoeuvre and park, so whether you’re planning a road trip across the country, a city break or just heading to the shops you can take the Ferrari Portofino M wherever the road takes you.
Why I love driving the Ferrari Portofino M
As we approached the car park you could see the look on people’s faces admiring the car and taking in every detail possible as we cruised past. As we stepped out of the car, questions began being asked from what’s it like to drive, how fast can it go and what is the make and model. This became a common experience any time we parked up from car enthusiasts and Ferrari fans. You feel like a bit of a celebrity driving the Portofino M as people wait to see who is driving and from the stares as you drive past.
We set off from the Ferrari garage in Swindon and headed around Cirencester, Stroud and through the Gloucestershire countryside before arriving at our lunch stop, Daylesford Organic Farm Shop. It’s nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds and the Ferrari definitely didn’t look out of place here as the car park was full of other super cars.
A day of experimentation and exploration
For a little experimentation, we followed the Sat Nav that perfectly directed us back to base and tested out the speed and control of the car on the route back. The Ferrari purred down the back streets of Burford and into Cirencester as we switched it from comfort mode to race mode. This gives the car better handling and grip so you can take on the twists and turns of every road whilst still accelerating at force. When we were arrived back, I was disappointed to hand over the keys and pop in my mediocre car for the drive home as there was no comparing the experience.
If you love a bit of exploration whilst driving around and are looking for a head turning super car to join your driveway then the Ferrari Portofino M is a great addition. Not only is it fun to drive and beautiful to look at, its also a car you can use everyday due to some of the new features that have been added to this car.
