The Terrence Higgins Trust auction 2024 will take place on Monday 15 April 2024, hosted at Christie’s, London. With over £5.2 million in funds raised, the auction has been able to make a difference in the lives of people living with and affected by HIV.
World-renowned artwork will be up for bidding at the event, accompanied by live music and canapes. This year, artists such as Rana Begum and Alexandra Llewellyn will have work in the lots for bidding.
Navot Miller, of whom Russell Tovey says, ‘It’s as if David Hockney and Patrick Caulfield met and birthed [Miller] on the dance floor of a sweaty nightclub in Berlin.’ There’s also the chance to bid on fantastic lots donated by Fellow Travelers and Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey and from the fabulously funny Joe Lycett.
The Venue – The Terrence Higgins Trust Auction 2024
The Terrence Higgins auction will be located at the Christie’s on Kings Street, in St. James, London. It’s an auction house known for bids on art and antiques, with several events and locations. Christie’s in London is the world’s oldest fine art auctioneer and has sold fine art, furniture, jewellery and wine since James Christie conducted the first sale in London on 5 December 1766. Locations range from various countries and cities, including New York and Los Angeles, Paris, Amsterdam and Dubai.
Bidding for a cause
The Terrence Higgins Trust works to raise money for HIV awareness, offering people the opportunity to make donations, volunteer, and campaign. They hold several different events, such as the upcoming annual auction, as another means of raising awareness and donations.
People can get involved through fundraisers such as the Ribbon Walk and can organise their own events as well. Terrence Higgins Trust also has a charity shop boutique in Pimlico, in efforts to raise money. The ultimate goal? To end new cases of HIV in the UK by 2030. More information in regards to living with HIV and being diagnosed can be found on their site.

A night of art and entertainment
Items at last year’s auction included jewellery, accessories, and limited-edition art prints. One of the biggest offerings was a getaway to the Maldives for seven nights. Another special offering was afternoon tea with David Williams in his London home, a fun and unique opportunity. This year’s auction will likely offer similar fine art and opportunities, as well as music and drinks.

2024 Highlights
Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey and comedian and artist Joe Lycett have donated money-can’t-buy items to support people living with and affected by HIV in the UK. World-class art and experiences, including Bailey and Lycett’s items, are going under the hammer at Terrence Higgins Trust’s charity auction at Christie’s in London on Monday 15 April. All lots are available to view online via The Auction Collective.
Leading artists Conrad Shawcross, Maggi Hambling and Navot Miller have also donated pieces to support our vital work. Since it began, the event has raised more than £5.2million to fund life-changing HIV services, including free helpline THT Direct. Curtis Holder, winner of Sky Arts’ Portrait Artist of the Year, will create a line portrait for one lucky bidder. Holder posthumous portrait of Terry Higgins – the first named person to die of an AIDS-related illness – now hands in the National Portrait Gallery.
Another highlight for The Terrence Higgins Trust Auction 2024 auction will surely be a private hour-long concert by tenor Mark Milhofer. Mark will be bringing the beauty and magic of opera to your door for you and your guests at your home. After a quarter century of singing in professional opera productions around the world, Mark Milhofer is an internationally recognised tenor. Able to switch comfortably from Monteverdi to Mozart, from Rossini to Lehar and Britten to Eotvos, Mark has performed at some of the most beautiful theatres across the globe, but his next performance could be in your own home!
For those who can’t join on the actual night, Terrence Higgins Trust will be livestreaming from Christie’s with real-time bidding, thanks to The Auction Collective.
