MR PORTER has been a long time coming. The space is unrecognisable from before and there is a new breath of life beneath the London Hilton on Park Lane.
The Design: Descend Into Decadence
Stepping through the mysterious copper door at 22 Park Lane and into MR PORTER reveals a lit spiral staircase, the first hint that you’re entering somewhere unexpected and befitting of the many stars that have graced the hotel including Paris Hilton. Descending into the subterranean space feels cinematic, the lighting softens, the sounds sharpen, and the atmosphere thickens with anticipation.
Designed by Baranowitz + Kronenberg, MR PORTER’s Mayfair home nods to the glamour of a bygone era with a bold, modern sensuality. Mirror-polished copper ceilings, velvet textures, wood accents and stone surfaces swirl into a moody, tactile world that feels both exclusive and seductive. At the heart: the 360-degree bar, buzzing with elegant chaos and after-dark energy.

The Concept: Dinner Meets Sinner
MR PORTER isn’t just a steakhouse—it’s a fusion of fine dining, high-energy lounge, and late-night social club, it walks the line between dinner and sinner with precision. Born in Amsterdam and now grounded in Mayfair, the concept is unapologetically bold, blurring the lines between elegant indulgence and edgy celebration.

The food is premium: ingredients, techniques, and presentation are on point, but the vibe? Anything but stuffy. Dishes arrive with drama. The menu features a mix of high-end comfort and luxury (think bone-in fillets, truffle-drenched sides, and caviar-dotted starters) without rigid rules or pretension.
MR PORTER is centered around prime cuts, but you will also find inventive vegetarian dishes, Asian and Latin-inspired seafood.

The Location: Beneath Park Lane’s Glamour
Tucked beneath the Hilton Park Lane in the former Trader Vic’s site, MR PORTER may be hidden underground, but it’s far from secret. Perfectly placed in one of London’s most prestigious addresses, the venue fits seamlessly into the luxury fabric of Mayfair. Words that come to mind include: glamorous, bold, and ever-so-slightly hedonistic.

The Food: Signature Cuts & Sensual Plates
While steak is king here, the menu tells a broader story. Start with melt-in-your-mouth roast beef carpaccio or avocado carpaccio topped with Beluga caviar, and pair with vibrant dishes like the spicy yellowtail sashimi or prawn salad with grilled corn, avocado, and chili sauce.

Then, dive into the heart of the matter: meat. The MR or MRS PORTER signature bone-in fillet, Ribeye on the bone, Lady Mignon, and Tomahawk are worthy choices. The beef is mostly Irish and Scottish too. An A5 Wagyu and Chateaubriand with foie gras add luxurious options for the louche amongst us.

For dessert! Don’t miss the Popcorn Crème Brûlée or Coconut Sorbet. They are playful, light, and sinful enough to keep the night going and satisfy a sweet tooth.
If you are on the lookout for an events space, there is a beautiful lounge come club tucked away near the bar. Under the brilliant eye of Florin Andrei, the space is open until VERY late. Great for a private hire. With only six tables, this is a beautiful space for Fashion Week parties and more.

The Drinks: Theatrical Cocktails with a Bite
The bar is more than a backdrop. The cocktail list is curated with the same passion as the food, offering drinks that engage all the senses.
Highlights include:
- Love Potion: Mastiha liqueur and rum under a cotton candy cloud with raspberry and rose foam
- French Touch: Vodka, citrus, apricot liqueur, peach and champagne
- Mezcal Picante: A smoky, spicy hit of mezcal and chili
- A rich Porter Fashioned or fresh Yuzu Martini for those who like to keep it classic with a twist

Overall
MR PORTER London is a lot of fun. From the moment you enter, you’re swept into a meticulously designed atmosphere where everything from the lighting to the layout, from the steak to the cocktails, seduces the senses. Great for date nights, private dinners, or nights when you just want to feel like a little more of a sinner than usual.
