Very much the pinnacle of the social calendar during the Cannes Film Festival, amfAR’s annual Gala for 2026 is set to return as a fundraising event that brings together the glitterati of the film, fashion and music industries in support of AIDS research.
amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, was first established in 1985 and is dedicated to supporting HIV prevention, treatment and education, along with tackling the AIDS epidemic.
Each year, the Foundation appoints event chairs based on their commitment to charitable causes and philanthropic endeavours. This year, Andrew Bezhenar, Caroline Scheufele, Pamela Anderson, Elizabeth Hurley, Scarlett Johansson, Demi Moore and Eva Longoria are among those appointed.
This year’s Gala, now in its 32nd year, will be hosted by American actress Geena Davis, and the star-studded event will feature performances from the legendary Robbie Williams, Zara Larsson and PinkPantheress, as well as an after-party set from DJ of the moment Honey Dijon.
The highlight of the evening will undoubtedly be its charity auction, with all proceeds going directly to the Foundation, which has raised over $900 million in support of its programmes since its inception.
This year, Berkeley Travel has partnered with Mr Gerald Krischek, General Manager of One&Only Aesthesis, to donate an exceptional lot valued at €350,000, comprising a five-night stay at the stunning property, in support of the auction.

The resort, an Athenian marvel in Glyfada, is set amidst 21 hectares of protected forest and is inspired by the Grecian Golden Age.
The lot itself features a stay in two of the property’s most iconic accommodations, Villa One and Villa Nostos, which can be connected to create the ultimate Riviera hideaway, complete with direct beach access to the area’s pristine sandy shores.

Speaking about the lot, Andrew Bezhenar, CEO of Berkeley Travel, said:
“We are delighted to support this year’s charity gala at the 2026 edition of amfAR Cannes. This year, I am proud to say that Berkeley Travel has partnered with One&Only to donate a highly desirable lot that includes a stay at the luxurious One&Only Aesthesis.
The lot includes a stay in two of the resort’s most magnificent villas, along with additional amenities and experiences that will make the trip unforgettable for the winning bidder. Berkeley Travel’s continued donations and collaboration with its partners are so important in ensuring charitable foundations like amfAR can continue their vital work in AIDS research, and the proceeds raised from this lot will go on to support this important cause.”

With a value of €70,000 per night, the auction winner will also enjoy an array of additional experiences to further enhance the stay.
These include a sundowner cruise, spa treatments for two at the resort’s Guerlain Spa, a poolside barbecue prepared by private chefs, and exclusive use of Cabana One for the duration of the stay.
The stay comes courtesy of Berkeley Travel, the connoisseur of exceptional travel experiences, founded by Simon Binke and Andrew Bezhenar, who, between them, have a combined 30 years of expertise in the sector.
