In a glittering confluence of French luxury and island soul, One&Only Le Saint Géran unveils its latest gem: the Guerlain Spa, the first of its kind in Mauritius. Conceived by the globally renowned BLINK Design Group, this new sanctuary is a sensory narrative written in stone, silk, light and scent. Where Guerlain’s legendary Parisian savoir-faire meets the raw, elemental beauty of Mauritius, a transformative experience is born – refined, immersive, and utterly unforgettable.
Positioned like a rare pearl on the island’s northeast coast, One&Only Le Saint Géran has long stood as an icon of barefoot elegance. However, the arrival of its new spa signals a fresh chapter – one that elevates wellness to an art form. For BLINK, this was simply about storytelling. “We see our role as enhancing and facilitating transcendent experiences through intelligent, nuanced design,” says Clint Nagata, founding partner of BLINK Design Group.
Indeed, their approach was anything but superficial. Drawing on a philosophy of ‘placemaking’, BLINK immersed themselves in the culture, topography and textures of Mauritius. Thus, they created a spatial experience that mirrors the island’s duality – volcanic drama offset by oceanic serenity, wild jungle juxtaposed with calm, cultivated luxury.

Design as Dialogue
Step into the spa and you are enveloped in an atmosphere of tranquil majesty. BLINK’s palette is purposefully quiet – whispered tones of cream, sand, and seafoam speak to the surrounding lagoon, while curated textures such as straw marquetry, rattan weave, sisal rugs, and carved timber connect the space to local craft traditions. Stone finishes inspired by Mauritius’ volcanic origins anchor the interiors, while soft lighting and flowing linen drapery elevate the mood to dreamlike.
One of the spa’s most captivating touches is the use of mother-of-pearl as a wall finish in the single treatment rooms – a strong nod to the surrounding Indian Ocean, shimmering subtly as the sun moves across the sky. Elsewhere, antique bronze, gold metals, and stucco finishes add a quiet glamour that is unmistakably French. It’s a tactile experience, designed to be felt as much as seen.

The genius of the Guerlain Spa lies in its ability to harmonise contrasting worlds. Mauritius is a place of exquisite tension – lava rock and lush jungle, ancient traditions and contemporary ease. This duality finds perfect expression in the spa’s architectural and sensory language. Here, ruggedness is balanced by refinement; French elegance dances with island sensuality. “It’s about dual harmony,” says Nagata, “the meeting of Guerlain’s precision with Mauritius’ spirit.”
Treatment rooms open out to the breeze, filtered through palms and frangipani, while the relaxation area overlooks a stunning spa pool flanked by cabanas and framed by the turquoise vastness of the Indian Ocean. It’s a cinematic scene – effortlessly chic and heartbreakingly serene.

Of course, what truly sets this spa apart is Guerlain. The legendary French house, synonymous with timeless beauty and exacting detail, brings its signature rituals and bespoke treatments to the island for the very first time. Each experience is crafted to reflect both the heritage of Guerlain and the local wisdom of the island.
“We’re proud to deliver world-class wellbeing at the heart of paradise,” says Roman Goetsch, General Manager at One&Only Le Saint Géran. “This collaboration blends French savoir-faire with Mauritian serenity in a way that feels deeply personal and globally distinctive.”

Wellness, Reimagined
The Guerlain Spa is about restoration, clarity and elevation. Every detail has been designed to soothe, to connect and to recalibrate. From the moment you cross its threshold, you are invited to leave behind the world and enter a realm where time slows and the senses awaken.
This is wellness reimagined – a return to balance. And in this exquisite temple of dual harmony, where Guerlain’s legacy dances with Mauritius’ untamed poetry, BLINK has created bliss, bottled.
