Blue World Voyages are set to launch the world’s first sports and wellness cruise in 2021, a new concept entirely dedicated to ‘Active Lifestyle Cruising’ aimed at wellness-focused adults.
To date, there has never been a cruise line with a fully integrated commitment combining sports/fitness activity, healthy delicious cuisine, performance measurement, learning opportunities as well as exploration. Underpinning this is their “5-star casual” principle where suits and gowns are replaced by a more relaxed vibe with a focus on comfort.
Onboard, expect an entire deck dedicated to sports and fitness which will be the largest functional training and strength conditioning facility at sea from batting cage, lap pool through to a golf school. As well as activity, all dining and entertainment is included and there looks to be a big focus on relaxation also with a dedicated spa and wellness deck developed by Diane Trieste that includes all the amenities you would expect.
Onshore, as a smaller vessel, more exotic and intimate destinations and ports will be visited to offer sightseeing and activity lifestyle experiences. Not forgetting onshore sports that are available whether you bike, hike, snorkel, scuba, surf, kayak, paddle board, play golf or practice yoga and meditate. A key onshore difference is that the time spent in each location is flexible. You may want to stay longer in places where the shore excursions are so exciting, you’ll want to make sure you have enough time to enjoy them.
Accommodation – Each of the ship’s 200 double suites and 25 single suites are spacious at 280 square feet, most with outside cabins with French balconies. All cabins will have walk in wardrobes including storage space for sports equipment, vitamin infused rainfall showers, circadian lighting, aromatherapy, air and water filtration.
As well as this unique take on fitness and wellbeing, you can also become a partner for a minimum investment of $500 as Blue World Voyages are preselling 500 memberships to its VIP Founders Club, an exclusive group of passengers whose collaboration and input of ideas will contribute to designing the perfect cruise experience.
This select group of brand ambassadors will benefit from a number of key perks such as cruise credits for their first cruise (equal to the amount of investment), sports and spa credits for every voyage, priority booking, cabin upgrades (when available), special events (sail away parties) and onboard discounts. At time of publication, there are 160 places left. For more details about the VIP Founders Club, click here.
