My SuperSuite: Living the High Life
I was fortunate enough to stay in one of the exclusive SuperSuites, and let me tell you—it was like having my own private penthouse in the heart of the city. The space was absolutely vast, offering 250 square metres to spread out, unwind, and truly relax. It was more than a suite; it felt like an elevated sanctuary tailored to my every need.
The suite featured three beautifully designed bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom. The beds were impossibly comfortable, with plush mattresses and soft linens ensuring a blissful night’s sleep. The bathrooms felt like private spas, complete with high-end toiletries, sleek modern finishes, and indulgently soft towels. After a day of exploring Manchester, stepping into those tranquil spaces was an absolute joy. Date ideas in Manchester are endless so there is a lot to explore.

The expansive living area was bright, airy, and stylish, with carefully curated furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows that opened onto a private terrace with unparalleled views of Manchester’s iconic skyline. Watching the city come alive in the morning and sparkle at night was a highlight of my stay.
The fully equipped kitchen was another standout feature. It had everything I could possibly need, from high-end appliances to thoughtfully stocked cupboards. The fridge came pre-filled with a bespoke hamper of gourmet treats and premium wines courtesy of Embankment Kitchen, which was perfect for hosting guests—or in my case, enjoying solo with the city views as my backdrop.

The high-speed private lifts whisked me directly to the SuperSuite, adding a sense of exclusivity to every arrival. For those driving, the secure on-site parking provided total convenience and peace of mind, ensuring my car was safe and easily accessible throughout my stay.
Housekeeping was another standout element. The team provided daily service that was both meticulous and unobtrusive, ensuring that the suite remained spotless and inviting without ever disturbing my rhythm. What I loved most, though, was how the SuperSuite’s private spaces were thoughtfully designed for celebrations. With its spacious layout and elegant atmosphere, it’s ideal for hosting milestone birthdays, intimate gatherings, or even a romantic dinner in style.

Facilities to Indulge and Recharge
While the SuperSuite was an oasis in its own right, CitySuites’ exceptional facilities elevated my stay even further. The 18-metre swimming pool was a tranquil retreat where I began my mornings with a leisurely swim. The water was perfectly tempered, and the surrounding area exuded a sense of calm. Additionally, the spa pool and steam room provided the perfect antidotes to a busy day in the city. I spent one particularly relaxing evening alternating between the two, leaving me feeling completely refreshed.

Fitness is a priority for me, even when I travel, so the 24-hour gym was an absolute win. Unlike many hotel gyms, which can feel like an afterthought, this space was fully equipped with state-of-the-art machines, free weights, and plenty of space to stretch or follow my routine. The attention to detail here meant I didn’t have to compromise on my workouts.
For those moments when I just wanted to unwind, CitySuites also had plenty of communal areas that were thoughtfully designed for comfort and style. Whether lounging with a book or planning my next day in Manchester, these spaces added to the sense of relaxation and luxury throughout my stay.

Dining Delights at Embankment Kitchen
A standout part of my CitySuites experience was dinner at Embankment Kitchen, a restaurant that masterfully blends bold flavours with a cosy yet elegant atmosphere. It was the perfect setting for a culinary journey that balanced sophistication with genuine warmth.
I began with two exceptional starters. The spicy chicken lollipops served with a zingy Asian salad and a sticky chilli dipping sauce, delivered a fiery kick that set the tone for the meal. Equally memorable was the hot chilli honey halloumi, which paired sweet and savoury flavours effortlessly. The creamy tzatziki, fresh pomegranate, and mint and garlic flatbread provided a refreshing counterpoint to the dish’s boldness.

For my main course, I opted for the steak, which was cooked to absolute perfection. Every bite was tender, juicy, and rich, showcasing the restaurant’s dedication to quality ingredients and expert preparation. The accompaniments were equally impressive, making the dish a feast for both the eyes and the palate.
To complement the meal, I savoured the EK Old Fashioned, a sophisticated take on the classic cocktail. The balance of flavours was impeccable. I rounded off the evening with a decadent Espresso Martini, which offered just the right touch of sweetness and energy to conclude a fab dining experience.

An Evening with Dolly at The Lowry
A highlight of my Manchester trip was attending Here You Come Again – The New Dolly Parton Musical at The Lowry Theatre. This heartwarming and thoroughly entertaining production wove Dolly’s iconic songs into a story filled with humour, emotion, and charm.
Hearing classics like Jolene and 9 to 5 performed live was a joyous experience, and the theatre’s intimate yet polished atmosphere added to the evening’s magic. The cast’s energy was infectious, and the narrative—a poignant tale about a fan finding solace in his imagined version of Dolly—offered moments of laughter and reflection in equal measure.

The production was uplifting and engaging, making it the perfect way to cap off a day filled with indulgence and relaxation. The Lowry Theatre itself is a gem in Manchester’s cultural landscape, with its comfortable seating, excellent acoustics, and welcoming vibe.
