My first time Botox… had to see what all the fuss was about. The difference was that this facial aesthetic treatment was done AT HOME! UNNDOO have created a totally new, game-changing, industry disrupting concept and it was so exciting to experience my first ever facial aesthetic treatment.
What is it?
UNNDOO is an online platform which brings anti-wrinkle injections to your home. As a Botox virgin, I was excited and nervous as the appointment drew near. For all you Botox virgins, Botox (Botulinum toxin) injections relax the muscles in your face to smooth out lines and wrinkles like my frown lines caused by people that don’t reply to my emails! It’s not permanent – it usually lasts for around 3 to 6 months so I have nothing to lose and everything to gain. The appointment, follow up and any additional Botox if needed is also included.

Booking my first time Botox
UNNDOO is the first of its kind, offering a professional and clinical service with an emphasis on safety, security and hygiene. You can sense that from even the booking process which was easy and all online. I put in my postcode (they have launched in London and some of the surrounding areas), selected my treatment to fix those frown and forehead lines, chose a date, answered some medical history questions and chose my medical practitioner from a range of over 20 doctors. I heard that their team are handpicked doctors and dentists who are highly trained and precise injectors.
I was excited at the prospect of having my first time Botox at home. Then I thought I better start tidying up my flat.
The day before
The day before I sent the UNNDOO team a Whatsapp and just double checked everything. Having that support on Whatsapp was great before, during and after my first time Botox as I didn’t feel like I was annoying the team with my questions. The email confirmation also gives you step by step points on how to prepare for the treatment which was handy and simple to follow.
I also gave the front room a little tidy up as I didn’t want Dr Zoe to see the work from home hot mess I had created this last year.
The day of the treatment
I am so excited and so nervous at the same time but I talk to a lot of my friends and they said that it was super easy. They were right but the best thing was I was at home. It is a day full of meetings, calls and editing so I didn’t really have the chance to get nervous.
Dr Zoe arrives and has to first deal with the 42 steps up to my flat (sorry Zoe)! She is super sweet and friendly. She is a dentist from Kent, spending a year working in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Royal Surrey County Hospital, which gave her detailed knowledge of facial expression muscles and, as a dentist, she has perfected delivering injections so I am in great hands.
The consultation
Dr Zoe and I talk about what I want to achieve (removing those frown lines) and she said that this is a great time to do this kind of treatment before any big wrinkles set in. Dr Zoe asks me if I want a full dose or a lighter one but I want it all!
We also talk about my medical history and I ask lots of questions about what it actually feels like during and after the injections. We then find a comfortable position for me on the sofa that gives Dr Zoe good access. We also talk about the potential risks and the benefits (like any medical or aesthetic procedure) and I sign a consent form.
Setting up
The attention to detail when it comes to making an at-home area clinical is second to none. As well as lots of hand sanitisation, Dr Zoe cleaned the living room table thoroughly and laid out all the sterile and single use equipment she needed. She then wore some gloves, a surgical face mask and disposable apron for the treatment. Here we go!
The treatment – my first time Botox
Dr Zoe marks up the areas she wants to target. The area is cleaned and then she injects each area very carefully and very precisely. It doesn’t hurt too much – it is just like any other injection but the needle is so fine and thin that it just feels like a small pinch. Each injection takes around 5 seconds and after a couple of minutes, it’s all done! There is a tiny bit of blood but as the needles are so fine, the bleeding stops straight away after a little dab.
Dr Zoe then cleaned the area again and disposed of the needles. Before I knew it, I was back at work.

After the treatment
I felt fine. I was told to take it easy for 24 hours so I couldn’t visit my favourite gym but I went for a little walk. The most important thing is not to apply pressure to the area as that can destroy the good work Dr Zoe just did.
The day after and the next few days I felt totally normal. You then start seeing the effects of the Botox after a few days and then the effects really kick in over 2 weeks. The treatment softened and reduced the appearance of the lines so I looked fresh.
I finally realised the power of a good Botox treatment. I Whatsapped the team with a photo and asked if they could just top up the lines in between my eyebrows. The appointment and any additional Botox® I need is included too. It’s important to note that having a tweak does NOT have an effect on how long the Botox works but can improve the lines.
Two days later, Dr Zoe was back but this time I was so relaxed and at ease. She topped up that area and a week later, the lines had softened even more and were barely noticeable. You can see from the before and after photos how effective the treatment was.
