Mistress allures with its atmosphere
Its intimate setting reflects the elegance of Paris, with classy and sophisticated décor and a warm welcome from Francois. Glass chandeliers hang delicately from the low basement ceiling, reflecting light that dances against wide mirrored walls. Small lamps and candles make the geometric tables glow, and dim lighting sets the underground mood. Feeling relaxed is effortless at the Mistress with the red velvet cushioned booths. The low-level booth seating, tucked close to the table, fosters an intimate setting.
The deep red booth seating and the red heavy hung curtains accompanied by the sultry red walls with dim lights reflecting off them, set a romantic tone within the restaurant. The interior design pays respect to the wealthy heritage of the Mayfair district through elegant furnishings, intricate detailing, and warm red color tones that allow for the restaurant to have an inviting, romantic, and sophisticated presence.

A menu that fuses classic and modern
The menu at Mistress takes a twist on classic French dishes, modernising them while keeping to tradition. There’s no surprise that traditional French cuisine dominates the menu with great ingredients. Mistress delicately seasons and serves lobster, caviar and truffle. Desserts include classic Crème Brûlée, Raspberry White Chocolate Mousse and Apple Tart Tatin.

Stone Bass Dugléré is a signature menu item, delicately topped with dill. The chefs carefully craft the signature Dugléré sauce, a white wine sauce served to compliment the Seabass Duglére. Look out for a King Crab with smoked tomato, avocado, lemon aioli and puffed black rice. The scallops are really unique, served with Jerusalem artichoke, chicken jus, and smoked chicken skin, and pomelo.

Mistress provides an extensively curated selection of wines, cocktails, and spritz to accompany the upscale dining experience. The wine list mainly features French selection, and also incorporates an impressive list of wines from all over the world including Spain, Italy, Germany, and California. Their nine page wine list includes selections of champagnes, red wines, and white wines, available by the glass or by the bottle. There are also signature cocktails as well as classics.
The underground significance
St. James’ Street clandestine tunnels served as inspiration for its location and exterior structure, now home to an equally naughty Champagne trolley. The tunnels historically smuggled ladies of the night at the behest of the male members of White’s private club. It’s hidden underground location is a reminder of the historical roots of the tunnels. Yet, as guests enter the Mistress of Mayfair, its underground location also contributes to the mysterious and intense ambiance inside the restaurant.

The defining Mistress of Mayfair Style
Tasseled chairs and engraved table details scream elegance. Glass, glimmer and glamour are the quintessential descriptors of Mistress. Its classic elements are timeless, and its flirty and fun appeal pulls in exclusive members and once-in-a-while attendants alike. The gold tassel accents lining the chairs isn’t simply a decoration, rather a symbol of luxury that refers back to the time of craftsmanship. Gold tassels glimmer under the dim lighting and catch the eyes of all guests, adding to Mistress’s elegant atmosphere. The décor goes beyond the chairs and table setting. The illuminating red walls hold deep intricate patterns and textures. Despite being a seemingly small accent to the room, the sultry red patterned walls fill the room with an unspoken sophistication that enhances the entire ambiance.
The red-lit atmosphere, the carefully crafted food and drink menu, the DJ spinning tracks, and the intricate design within, all allow for a unique experience at Mistress of Mayfair.
