As Autumn kicks in, brunch is back in and the new Uptown Brunch at Sumosan Twiga is here to make your Saturdays fun again. The Uptown Brunch is quite simply a great and convenient combination of fun, entertainment, great food, bottomless drinks options and dancing.
What is the Uptown Brunch?
It’s so simple. A jazzy four-hour bottomless brunch taking you back to the days of Motown funk, the glitz of disco and the rhythm of soul music. Expect the usual finessed Sumosan Twiga signature fusion food along with bottomless drinks including champagne (from 12pm to 2pm) and cocktails.
The Food
The menu is really varied. Expect the usual Sumosan Twiga fusion of Italian and Japanese dishes. To snack on, some Gnocchi with tomato and mozzarella. Gently friend and packed with cheese and tomato. To start, Maki rolls made an appearance, very delicately created. Our favourite starter was a Burrata filled with white truffles and seasonal mushrooms. Creamy, moreish and full of truffle goodness. Our favourite salad in London also made an appearance in the form of a spinach salad with hazelnuts.
For main course, you can choose between a grill baby chicken, tortelloni with ricotta lemon and bottarga, a Josper grilled beef rib eye or an Alaskan marinated miso black cod. Take one of each and share. The rib eye was juicy and went well with a side of tomato salad.
Drinks
No Saturday brunch is complete without quality drinks. You can choose from a bottomless drinks menu of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label champagne (from 12pm-2pm), cocktails, beer, wine and spirits (vodka, gin, rum and whisky). Cocktails include a brilliant Praline Martini to keep you energised for the 4 hour disco marathon with 42 Below Vodka, espresso coffee, hazelnut liqueur and a little caramel.
The Uptown Brunch entertainment
Have a quiet Friday as Saturday brunch is going to be fun. From Funk and Disco, to Boogie and Motown, Sumosan Twiga sets the party mood with the DJ spinning tunes from the word go followed by some energetic dancers roaming the room.
Then follows some live music from the soulful sounds of acclaimed singer Najwa banging out hits including Whitney Houston classics, accompanied by the catchy notes of a live saxophonist. The tunes continue throughout the afternoon with a DJ set and dancers bringing the disco vibe to this brunch filled Saturday. Not just an ordinary brunch, the Uptown Brunch will transport you back to the dancefloor.
Get there early to enjoy the whole experience of a really fun Saturday afternoon.
The Uptown Brunch is on every Saturday from 12PM to 4PM at £150 per person.
