Following the successful launch last summer, The Dorchester Rooftop returns with a residency by The Bar at The Dorchester. This award winning team of alchemists is led by cocktail genius and gentleman Giuliano Morandin, who celebrated his 40th year at The Dorchester last year.
The space has been redesigned by Martin Brudnizki into a speakeasy-style bar and lounge on the 9th floor of The Dorchester. Partnering with Courvoisier, the refreshed interiors open up to the terrace, offering stunning view across the peaceful Hyde Park treetops and beyond.
Elegant artwork is paired with live music from Molto Music Group & Yamaha Music London to entertain and excite. There is an outdoor terrace with some reimagined spaces inside to experience spring time cocktails.
The cocktail menu has been expertly crafted and inspired by spring. Each cocktail is inspired by an artistic masterpiece, with a menu beautifully illustrated by Sonia Hensler. Head bartender Lucia Montanelli says that the menu is dedicated to “artists to have made spring their muse.”
One of our favourite cocktails is Fields, which consists of Courvoisier VSOP, mezcal, red vermouth, Clementi China Antico elixir and fig and illustrates fields filled with sheep in the spring. Sakura, inspired by the image of mountains being bathed in pale pink light with petals in the air, is made up of Courvoisier VSOP, Grand Marnier, rose, strawberry, mandarin bitters and Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label. Taking inspiration from Oscar Wilde’s ‘From Spring Days to Winter,’ The Dove contains Pisco, Granny Smith, dry sherry, lime, salted butter syrup, egg white and soda.
There is also a light food menu designed by Mario Perera and team to accompany the spring experience at The Dorchester rooftop with a blue lobster roll, oysters, truffle mushroom pizza, a cheese and charcuterie selection and more.
The Dorchester Rooftop opens seven days a week throughout spring and summer to make the most of the longer days and sunsets. Look out for announcements soon on future pop ups at The Dorchester Rooftop. With a mixture of incredible views, live music, gorgeous interiors and a cocktail menu inspired by spring, The Dorchester Rooftop has really returned in true Dorchester Collection style.
