Veuve Clicquot has launched its first ever Rosé Terrace in the UK, at London’s Hotel Café Royal until the end of September 2022 with the theme Rosé Together. The theme is all about sharing the same experience, with everyone bringing something unique to the table. You will be able to enjoy rosé, vintage wines, Champagnes and summer cocktails on the elegant terrace, alongside a bespoke menu of wine-matched food pairings.
Located in Reims, the Veuve Clicquot vineyard, established in 1772 and celebrating its 250th anniversary this year, is one of the foremost in the Champagne region, both in size and quality. It covers 382 hectares, spreads over 12 of the 17 Grand Crus, and 18 of the 39 Premiers Crus. It has also been and continues to be instrumental in establishing and evolving the Champagne industry.
The Rosé Terrace
The Rosé Terrace has been designed to evoke the south of France, with the theme Rosé Together. A cocktail list specially created for the terrace is also available, so expect of a variety refreshing, floral and fruity Champagne cocktails which depict the essence of summer.
The Rosé Together Champagne list will include Veuve Clicquot Rosé, Veuve Clicquot Rich Rosé, Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Rosé and Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rosé, as well as just two exclusive bottles of the legendary 1989 Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rosé, reputed to be the greatest vintage since the extraordinary one of 1978. The list will also feature wines from Chateau d’Esclans (Whispering Angel) and Ruinart Rose.
The Rosé Together cocktail list includes the Provence Fizz, made with Veuve Clicquot Rich Rosé, elderflower liqueur, bitters, grapefruit and lime; the Framboise, with raspberry sorbet; the Etre Fada, with lemon verbena infused gin and bergamot liqueur; the Cezanne, with Volcan tequila, Cointreau and watermelon, and the Doux Ange, made with Whispering Angel Rose, El Dorado rum, lychee liqueur and coconut.
Food Pairing
Hotel Café Royal’s head chef Eliano Crespi has designed a food pairing menu to complement the Rosé Terrace’s unique drink offerings. You can expect dishes such as salted cod croquettes, spiced chicken bonbons, or a friture de poisson with prawns, squid and whitebait. The Hotel Café Royal are also poised to announce their new restaurant very soon which is set to open later this year.
Inside the bar, inspired by the Hotel Café Royal Cocktail Book compiled in 1937, the Green Bar is a cocktail celebrating the diverse history of the area. The list features botanicals and tonics alongside classic cocktail concoctions and a selection of light dishes and sharing plates.
