London stalwart Amazónico have launched OCTO, their first-ever dedicated cocktail lounge and late night bar. The space is hidden past the kitchen, down a wandering golden staircase and into an intimate lounge serving next level cocktails and off-menu dishes.
Amazónico offers an explosion of the senses, with live music, lush natural décor and a distinctive culinary experience. The concept is curated by husband and wife team, Sandro Silva and Marta Seco – two of Madrid’s best-known restaurateurs – and features a collection of Latin American cuisines and all their influences, from traditional Brazilian dishes and cachaça cocktails and Peruvian style sushi.

So why OCTO? OCTO takes inspiration from South American cenotes beneath the Amazon River. A private, underground lagoon with a gilded bar awaits guests. Designed by internationally renowned artist Lázaro Rosa-Violan, the venue has been carefully curated to take its guests on a trip down the Amazon from source to sea, with plenty of natural and raw materials.
The bar team designed a brand-new menu for the launch, a range of cocktails presented in quite stunning ornate glassware. Signatures include the beautiful Sea-Tron with Ciroc Vodka, Cointreau, and Tropical Fruits, finished with Ruinart Blanc de Blanc; and OCTO’s take on a classic Manhattan, The Ritual with Zacapa XO Rum, Mancino Chinato, Pussanga liqueur with notes of Coffee and Brazilian Bitters. Others include the El Tulipan, made with Hendrick’s Neptunia Gin, Kumquat Liquor, Camu Camu Jam, Passion Fruit Kombucha & Sea Flowers Blossom and the fragrant Club Sazerac combining Whistle Pig 10-year-old Whiskey, Hennessy XO, Coconut, Saffron and Pineapple.

Amazónico’s Executive Chef Vitelio Reyes has created an inventive menu with new dishes, available every evening until 11pm, including snack-sized Arepas stuffed with marinated Purple Prawns, Citrus and Chilli, Chicharron made with Tempura Sea Bass in a Brioche Bun, topped with Spicy Mayo and Chilean Pebre. OCTO will also serve a selection of their signature exotic nigiri and sashimi alongside their much-loved Lomi Lomi Maki, Ora King Salmon filled with Avocado, Coriander, Salmon Roe and Langoustine Pibil, Prawn Tempura, Teriyaki Sauce & Achiote Miso.
Each evening, from 8pm until late, OCTO’s resident DJs Andy Faisca, Tony Cortez and Trys will take to the decks, mixing their signature elec-tropical beats with laid-back House and touches of vocal Jazz. As the night continues OCTO will progress into an energetic mix of Deep Tech House and NU-Disco.
