Cygnet 22, the new premium gin from the Cygnet range, is coming to the UK this June. Cygnet is a premium crafted gin in Wales, founded by classical singer Katherine Jenkins OBE and social-impact filmmaker Andrew Levitas.
This new development is a refined, sustainable gin with a unique versatility that allows for it to be sipped as well as mixed.

Cygnet’s distinctive essence
Different from other gins, Cygnet aims to break the mould in a traditionally male-dominated spirits industry. The gin is inspired by a Welsh spirit produced just six miles down the road from where Katherine grew up in Swansea.
As a gin aficionado, Katherine has worked diligently with the team to create this expression and is ready to move the Welsh-founded product internationally. In fact, the initial announcement about the arrival of Cygnet made such a global impact that pre-orders sold out in a record time of a week.
Following the successful arrival of the Cygnet Welsh Dry Gin, husband and wife duo Katherine and Andrew were inspired to create Cygnet 22, the first truly Welsh Ultra-Premium Gin. Cygnet’s name itself holds special significance. It correlates to “baby swan”, the animal symbolic of Swansea, Katherine’s origin. The “22” in the name can be traced back to the age at which Katherine was offered the largest recording deal in classical music history. The Cygnet team crafted the gin with sipping in mind, using 22 of the finest Welsh botanicals.
A unique flavour
Cygnet 22 combines the previous 12 botanicals found in the Cygnet Welsh Dry Gin, as well as several more, including Bee Pollen, Lemon Balm, Rose Petals and White Peppercorns. These additional botanicals give it a distinctive flavour.
The incorporation of their secret ingredient Manuka Honey was chosen by Katherine herself, a long-term devotee for its healing properties. The complexity of flavours captures the timeless essence and personality of the gin, leaving a smooth, silky taste.
Katherine and Andrew place sustainability and environmental awareness at the centre of their philosophy. Therefore, Cygnet provides consumers with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients which are sourced responsibly from local suppliers. Both recyclable and refillable, the Cygnet 22 is a bottle for life with regeneration and upcycling capabilities.

Welsh influence and origin
Along with the finest botanicals, Cygnet uses pure Welsh water. Cygnet’s outstanding flavour comes from the talented sixth-generation Welsh distillation team led by master distiller Aster Sadler, who combines traditional methods in a 300-litre Arnold Holstein copper pot still.
Wales is home to a growing number of gin makers and small distilleries, with even more new brands and products appearing on the market. Back in 2017, there were around 5 gin distilleries in the country, with an increase to over 30 in 2023. The coastlines, mountains and countryside in Wales serve as crucial inspiration and influence when it comes to raw taste and wild botanicals to forage.
“Cygnet 22 combines the finest local botanicals with pure Welsh water,” Katherine and Andrew say, “and being surrounded by the nature and beauty of the valleys, a whole lot of ‘Hwyl!’ (An ecstatic feeling of inspiration unique to Wales).”
