Whether you’re someone who loves the buzz of a brunch, a lively night out, or perhaps both, Hutong has it all. Located on the 33rd floor of The Shard, Hutong, a sophisticated Northern Chinese cuisine restaurant has a couple of fun new things: Shanghai Nights and The Weekend Dynasty Brunch.
Inspired by Northern China’s rich culinary tapestry, The Weekend Dynasty Brunch offers a generous selection of Hutong’s best dishes — a great way to spend the weekend and feast on exceptional flavours. Happening every Thursday evening, DJs will join Shanghai Nights for a dynamic atmosphere while you enjoy expertly curated cocktails and food platters, all in front of London’s breathtaking skyline views.

Hutong Dynasty Brunch
Inspired by the grandeur of the Chinese imperial harem system, Hutong’s Dynasty Brunch offers a majestic experience — capturing luxury, history, and of course, exquisite flavours all together.
Served on weekends from 11.30 until 15.30 the Emperor menu will fill you up for the entire day with a hearty, free-flowing feast of dishes. To start, Hutong serves a selection of appetisers, setting the stage for your brunch. Highlights include the Chilled Thinly Cut Marinated Beef Shank featuring tender slices of beef infused with a gorgeous Szechuan chilli and coriander — spicy yet refreshing. Generously filled with a scallop and prawn mixture and accompanied by a hot and spicy sauce, Hutong’s wontons are a winner too.

The Iberico Pork Dumplings, stuffed and paired with a robust Sichuan garlic sauce, create a delightful balance between savoury and spicy notes. Vegetarian dishes include the spring rolls with mushrooms and cabbage — crunchy and tender at the same time. Sweet and spicy, the Wasabi Okra comes glazed with a tantalising mix of honey, soy, and wasabi.
Onto the mains, you simply choose one dish from the menu. Light, yet satisfying, the Wok-Scrambled Eggs with Scallops have a soft texture, complemented nicely with fresh scallops’ subtle sweetness. Heartier dishes include the sea bass, infused with ginger, garlic, and finished with a spicy chilli sauce. The calamari with XO Sauce also stands out, tossed in a rich umami-packed spicy sauce — tender, spicy, and savoury.

For non-seafood dishes, you can order the Sweet & Sour Chicken, featuring a burst of flavours coming from red onions, yam, as well as bell peppers, all complemented by a delectable sauce. Additionally, the soft Mapo Tofu, a vegan option, comes with a spicy chilli sauce, which the tofu absorbs beautifully. On the side, each pair of visitors may choose between a dish of fried noodles or the chef’s special pickled vegetable fried rice, both vegan.

There is always room for dessert. You may choose between Hutong’s rich Ma La Chocolate Tart, fresh Mango Pudding, or the light Mandarin Sorbet — absolutely irresistible and great portions too.
All of this food comes for £60 per person which is great value. To drink, Hutong brunch has four types of upgrades to the Emperor menu, all featuring free-flowing beverages. For champagne lovers or those celebrating a special occasion, there’s an option to add unlimited house champagne to your table for an additional £20 per person — so get ready to pop those bottles!

At an extra £30 , the Guifei Beverages menu includes classic red or white wine, as well as Meantime Lager Beer. However, you should order Hutong’s crisp House Prosecco, or, for a refreshing twist, the Bellinis which blends a splash of fruit purée with the Prosecco to create a sweet and bubbly drink. For those who want even more variety, the Empress Beverages menu, priced at £40, offers all of these options plus some of Hutong’s special cocktails. One standout is the Chinese Lantern, a unique mix of Aperol, mandarin cordial, plum bitter, and prosecco, truly capturing the flavours of the East. Another is the Hutong Spritz, combining Hoxton Tropical Gin with coconut, peach, and jasmine for an aromatic and refreshing sip.

If you’d rather have non-alcoholic drinks, the Fei Beverages menu at £25 includes a selection of mocktails such as Shan — a mix of Everleaf Mountain, almond, cranberry, lime, peach, and dill. For a fruitier beverage, try Senlin with Everleaf Forest, pineapple, coconut, mango, passionfruit, and chilli. Additionally, you can choose from a selection of soft drinks and freshly squeezed juices, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Shanghai Nights
When you walk inside, Hutong’s resident DJs music will be beating through the atmosphere, preparing everyone for an unforgettable night. The decor denotes Northern China with dim red lanterns and golden lights casting a nice glow over the space. And the best part? You’ll see all of London sparkling from the bar’s panoramic view.
The moment you arrive, the team will prepare a bespoke welcome cocktail, Shanghai Lights, exclusive for the night. The drink blends Tarsier Gin with the Chinese flavours of dragon fruit, lychee, green tea, mandarin, peach, and a hint of jasmine soda, kickstarting your evening with a burst of tastes.

But that’s not it for the night — the bar offers a selection of cocktails too. Sweet and fruity, the Exotic Martini is made from Grey Goose Vanilla, and blends pineapple, coconut, yuzu, and passionfruit all together. If you prefer floral and aromatic flavours, try the Jasmine Garden, featuring black cardamom and jasmine tea infused with Bombay Sapphire and Elderflower Cordial.

For a spicy kick, Jungle Mango has melon-infused Belvedere vodka, combined with passionfruit, mango, coconut, and yes, chilli to get your taste buds moving. And don’t miss the Coffee & Melon Martini with melon-flavoured Java Mur, Brunette Coffee Liqueur, Frangelico, as well as dark chocolate — rich and deep.

Having loosened up with the atmosphere, you should be ready to enjoy Hutong’s delicious Dim Sum platter. Translating to “touch the heart,” this platter includes a selection of small dishes that pair well with your drink. The pan-seared lobster bao is cooked with ginger, adding an aromatic and flavourful touch next to the soft and fluffy bao buns. Grilled to a smoky char, the Mala Cumin Barbecue Lamb Skewers are tender, but it’s the bold combination of cumin and Sichuan peppercorns that imparts a distinctive flavour, balancing numbing heat with spices.

Other dishes include the roasted duck — slowly cooked with a rich marinade of spices and herbs, turning into a glossy, crisp, and tender masterpiece. For vegetarian options, the platter also includes mushroom and spinach dumplings, filled with an earthy and fresh mixture, all covered in a translucent, silky wrapper and steamed until they burst in your mouth. On the side, you can munch on Hutong’s crunchy green asparagus.

To elevate your experience, and really fill your appetite, you should order from the menu’s additional main dishes. Crunchy from the outside, the Crispy Prawn Rolls will leave you craving more with every bite. Another seafood option is the wok-fried cod fillet with an amazing sauce. For a meaty delight, try the Wagyu Beef Mille-Feuille, a luxurious dish featuring thin layers of succulent beef, expertly seared and arranged elegantly. Simply delicious.
