Maroto Restaurant is your new restaurant hotspot in Vere Street Mayfair. Hearty, Brazilian-inspired dishes that remarkably manage to be both refined and unfussy. Led by chefs Mehmet Talayhan and Mark Tolentino, the pair previously honed their craft under Ben Murphy at Launceston Place, now elevating Brazilian flavours in a stunning room. Maroto London has relaunched as a concept under the watchful charming eye of nightlife legend Aaron Benito,

Smart and modern, Maroto’s dining room is elegant and welcoming—wood panels, stone, neutral colours and black light fixtures all creating a striking minimalistic feel. If you prefer a front-row experience, the open kitchen has counter seatings, allowing you to watch the action. Alternatively, for a more intimate dinner, you can book the private dining room behind the wine walls.

Location and Aesthetic
Just below the restaurant, Maroto Club is a cool late night venue taking inspiration from the 1930s’ Art Deco movement with entertainment and top DJs. Maroto’s late-night chic vibe fits right into the Mayfair atmosphere, along elegant streets of one of the most high-end areas of London are Michelin-starred restaurants and leading fashion brands. It’s Brazilian-inspired drinks and entertainment are a particularly unique addition to the area, especially the late-night element. Open until 5am, some nights you can expect the hottest DJs too like Marco Carola, arguably the global ambassador of techno.

Starters at Maroto
Among Maroto’s starters, you can’t miss the iconic Brazilian Pão de Queijo, made with garlic and 30-month-aged parmesan. This is arguably one of the most moreish dishes in London. What we can describe as Brazilian cheese balls, these are dense, cheesy and gluten-free made with tapioca flour, eggs and cheese. Other must-try options include the Tiger Prawns served alongside mayonnaise, tucupi bisque, and spiced mango for a tangy-spicy and slightly sweet kick. For more seafood options, order the Cured Seabass with courgettes, finger lime and malagueta pepper, or, to really lavish it up, the Exmoor Caviar paired with smoked haddock, lemon cream, and chives.
The Beef Tartare, complemented by a turnip and parsley emulsion, offers a refined twist on a classic, while the 24-Hour Slow-Cooked Pork Belly, with tutu de feijão and piccalilli, starts your meal with a hearty dish.

Main Courses
The highlight of Maroto’s mains is the five-flavour experience, featuring a selection of sauces that add distinct layers of taste to any of the dishes—spicy, sweet, salty, sour, and umami. While the actual sauces change throughout the year depending on the seasons and available ingredients, their essence remains the same. In this launch menu, you can choose between BBQ Maitake with Yuzu and Soy; Parsley Sabayon; Black Truffle Emulsion; Burnt Orange Gel; and Avocado with Chilli and Coriander.
Seafood lovers should order the asador monkfish or the Bacalhau (Cornish cod) poached in butter—rich and delicate. On the other hand, vegans will find the cauliflower with capers and raisins truly satisfying. A classic beef cut in Brazil, the Picanha will delight every meat lover. Other options include the corn-fed chicken breast or the Aylesbury duck. If you come in a group of three or four, don’t miss Maroto’s big signature sharing dish featuring dishes such as Tomahawk steak.

On the side, you can ask for traditional Brazilian dishes like feijao carioca guisado (braised pinto beans) or the Cassava fries seasoned with vinegar powder—both great. Another classic is the maionese de batata, a Brazilian potato salad known for its creaminess but also tangy flavour.

Desserts
Having had this Brazilian feast, you surely have some room for dessert, no? Fruity and aromatic, the grilled pineapple with sage, mint, and coconut is a refreshing finish to your meal. For something lighter, the yoghurt soft whip or yuzu mousse with pear compote caps off your meal beautifully if you’re quite full at this point.

Cocktails, Wines, & Champagnes
Maroto’s Brazilian spirit also infuses their cocktails with vibrant flavours. The Maroto Punch is a refreshing tropical blend of Cachaça, lime, papaya, passion fruit, coconut, and guava, offering an ideal balance of sweetness and citrus. Tipsy Triker combines Santiago Cuba rum with açaí syrup and cherry puree, creating a rich, fruity concoction. The rum’s robust character gets complemented by the deep, berry-like açaí syrup and the sweet, tart cherry puree, resulting in a cocktail with bold, complex flavours. For a non-alcoholic option, try the Açaí Fizz Sling, featuring açaí with tropical pineapple and guava, finished with a refreshing citrus note from lemon, all tied together in a satisfying, fizzy drink.
The drinks list also includes a range of premium champagne labels like Krug, Louis Roederer, Veuve Clicquot, and Dom Perignon. If you’re a wine lover, you’ll also enjoy a curated selection of classics and emerging producers.
