Layering luxurious textures and aromas to bring new twists to the ultimate classic cocktail, Gabor Onufer and the talented team at the Swans Bar have crafted a new menu in homage to the humble yet traditional martini.

With a martini, there really is nowhere to hide and the quality of the ingredients along with the skill in mixology has to shine through. Comprising six martinis using the finest spirits such as award-winning X MUSE Vodka, the new menu draws on the expert team’s ability to handcraft bespoke syrups and a multitude of other ingredients in its in-house laboratory – including Atlantic Rainwater Madeira and Sherry Water-switched Dolin Dry.
There is a wide selection of martinis to delight in, featuring a dry martini with Sipsmith Dry or Absolut Elyx, a Dirty Gibson with Hepple and Dolin Dry, an Elit Vesper with Tulcban Gin, a Regalia with Beefeater Crown Jewel, a Fleur de Mer with Kombu Butter X Muse, and an Eau de Martini with Seventy One Gin.

As well as martinis, there is a wide range of other brilliant cocktails too. The Timeless Classics selection is popular and includes the Aviation Rosa, a Burnt Mandarin Negroni, Swans Pisco Sour, Californian Margarita, Havana Blues, Champagne de Normandie, and Apollo.

Fast becoming one of London’s top cocktail destinations, Swans Bar at Maison Assouline – the global flagship store and cultural hub of luxury publisher, Assouline – is the place to enjoy excellently crafted cocktails alongside a selection of fine wines and rare spirits. Inspired by the book Swans: Legends of the Jet Society – which featured the entourage of Truman Capote, you can expect a chic library ambiance, filled with the publisher’s books – tempered by a romantic dose of vintage nostalgia, carefully-curated jazz music, a glimmering back bar and the brilliant team in classic white blazers.

Alexandre Assouline joined Assouline in 2016, the luxury publishing house founded in Paris by his parents in 1994. Since then he has forged his own path within the company, successively promoted to various executive management positions.

Originally designed as a bank by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1922, the building offers the fullest expression of the Assouline retail experience. Maison Assouline reflects the brand’s signature style, from walls lined with Assouline book collections and intriguing library objects to ornate glass cabinets featuring special book editions and rare objects for sale. A dedicated table for the brand’s wildly popular Travel Series is lit by a neon sign that reads “Travel From Home.” The Salon Ultimate boutique, home to Assouline’s coveted, handcrafted Ultimate Collection books, provides several plush chairs to relax and enjoy.

Upstairs, the Grande Salle, a beautifully appointed room dedicated to private events, offers a secluded space to immerse. The Swans Bar, named after an iconic Assouline book, transforms throughout the day to provide a wide range of tasty offerings, from a light lunch to a selection of international spirits.
