Walpole has officially launched its 2024 Brands of Tomorrow. Brands of Tomorrow is a programme in which 12 carefully selected early-stage brands undergo a year-long process, to further develop their businesses. The mentoring is led by some of the UK’s most experienced luxury executives, providing one-to-one coaching and sharing their expertise.
Walpole is now in its 17th year with the flagship development programme, continuing to pass on skills, experience and practical knowledge to its selected businesses. This year’s brands have been chosen carefully, as a means of moving toward sustainable practices and quality craftsmanship.

Who are the Brands of Tomorrow?
A couple of the chosen brands have an environmental focus, pushing for sustainability with their business. Citizens of Soil is “changing the olive oil industry for good,” by sourcing directly from small-scale producers and tracing the production all the way to the start. 1% of each of their sales goes toward soil regeneration projects. Harrison Heritage is driven by a passion for cooking with natural fuels, crafting appliances via techniques rarely seen in today’s era of mass production. Founder and designer Daniel Thumwood has spent decades perfecting the art of transferring heat through metal, with his designs highlighting proper functionality.
Huckleberry’s luxury outdoor appliances and furniture similarly utlise sustainable practices, with FSC-certified solid oak and sustainably sourced materials. Their outdoor furniture is unique and classy, equally fit for large country spaces or city living. They aren’t the only company in this realm, either. Katto crafts exceptional kitchenware using sustainable materials, and minimum mass production. They work with human beings as opposed to large machines, for handcrafted exceptional quality.

SHORE also handmakes their products, offering ergonomic rugs and soft furnishings, all handwoven in their London studio. Their products are sophisticated and of highest quality, and they utilize a creative, experimental approach to their products. Poodle and Blonde is a luxury interior brand, which offers original wallpaper and fabric designs and creates products in a sustainable manner. They offer retro-inspired prints and vintage pieces designed to last a lifetime.
Fielden is continuing sustainable practice, in a different sense. This English whiskey distillery makes some of the world’s most sustainable spirits, changing farming “field by field, harvest by harvest.”

Gigi and Olive provides luxury for “the modern bride,” offering premium and personalised fashion. Their female-founded brand makes them unique, similar to another of the brands, Otiumberg. This chosen company was founded by London-based sisters who aim to craft timeless and luxurious jewellery pieces. Their style is focused on modern-classic design.

On the other hand, Jukes Cordialities was founded by two great friends Jack and Matthew, working to create a sophisticated and alcohol-free drink that could potentially replace a fine wine.
In the beauty sector, Larry King has launched as a hair care brand with a range of multi-functional hair care products. Larry himself has been featured in Vogue, GQ and Vanity Fair, now formulating his products with the finest ingredients, with his wife Laura King.
MONC Eyewear is radicalising fashion with their gender-fluid collection of pieces, “reframing” the eyewear industry. They value quality, provenance and sustainability, with their products as a result existing as timeless pieces.

Walpole’s work and what the programme will bring
Walpole has partnered with Mishcon de Reya, an independent law firm which employs more than 900 people with over 550 lawyers that offer a wide range of legal services to budding companies. They provide necessary advice and strategy to these companies.
In itself, Walpole has collected more than 270 companies within their membership and has cemented and championed relationships with several of Europe’s creative and luxury sectors.
