Spontaneous fine diners in London are now saved with the launch of Ambl – an app that offers effortless last-minute reservations. The ever-evolving dining behaviour is shifting when it comes to reserving a table. With spontaneity at the forefront, Ambl is a revolutionary new app that lets reservations come to you with the press of a button.
The app connects customers with over 150 up-scale venues, including Michelin starred restaurants in the beating heart of London. Ambl finds last-minute bookings within the next hour, same day, tomorrow or the next week without needing a deposit or card details.
The story
After securing over £2 million in funding, the app was launched in London last summer by Essex entrepreneurs Aaron Solomon and Jed Hackling. Ambl venues for any occasion including bookings for corporate events, date nights or a night out with friends.
When Solomon was tasked with booking a table for a large group, he found no suitable options — despite scouring booking websites and making calls. Ambl was born in 2021 when Solomon broadcasted his idea to local restaurants. The team found that no-shows cause a fifth of restaurant owners to consider closing for good.
“We want to encourage a better behaviour from our customers and provide our venues with confidence that an Ambl booking will turn up and fill business,” Solomon said. “Which could potentially be lost from no-shows.”
The app
The app is super intuitive and the best bit is the filtering system. You can filter for restaurants, bars, cuisine, location and much more. A list then pops up on a map or you can go through the list of places. Super easy. The updated venue user interface not only offers a glimpse of the venue with a snazzy video but also gives you a vibe check, making your Ambling even simpler.
The venues and perks
There are lots to choose from including many luxury restaurants with places added every day. Expect the likes of Park Chinois, Kutir, Benares, STK, Farzi London and more. Also keep an eye out on your emails as Ambl have collaborated with venues to bring exclusive perks and even free cash! We recently saw a £100 credit to use at STK Strand all the way to free oysters when you purchase a glass of champagne at Saltie Girl.
