Tucked away on Soho’s Rupert Street, Heritage Soho is the home of London’s first Alpine-inspired restaurant & cocktail bar, offering Modern European cuisine influenced by the classic gastronomy of the Alpine region. Featuring the elements of Swiss, French, Italian and German traditional cooking, expect a fresh interpretation to the culinary gems with a touch of originality.
Hailing straight from the heart of the Swiss Alps, Heritage Soho was established in 2019. Taking its roots in Switzerland, the group named its first London institution ‘Heritage’ to pay homage to where it all started – the iconic Restaurant Le Museum in Montreux, Switzerland, previously owned by the founder of the Montreux Jazz Festival, Claude Nobs. At Heritage, guests can find the allusion to this legendary event in the original artworks by Keith Haring, and in the works of modern artists such as Yuvi and Paul Insect.
LOCATION
Based right in the middle of the West End and with some of the best nightlife, Heritage is the perfect choice when visiting the city. The restaurant is within walking distance from Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, and Tottenham Court Road and has easy access to bus and tube stations. Just a fantastic location for anyone looking for a dining spot in central to have a pre-theatre bite or catch up with friends for a glass of a bubbly! Live music events also occur every Thursday to Sunday, with a saxophonist playing on Thursday nights and Sunday brunches, and a line-up of the best DJs joining every Friday and Saturday night and for brunch on Saturday.
THE FOOD
Dine and celebrate in style in the elegant décor of a revamped Alpine chalet, where a relaxed atmosphere meets the best of Swiss hospitality. In fact, the stylish design complements the cuisine that was rewarded with a Michelin Plate distinction in 2021 and 2022.
Being dedicated to producing quality, carefully sourced food made of seasonal local ingredients from artisan producers across England and Switzerland, Chef creates a menu with a balance between much-loved food classics and modern culinary twists.
A LA CARTE MENU HIGHLIGHTS
Heritage’s Classic Fondue
The cheese fondue is based on the most popular, traditional Swiss recipe ‘moitie-moitie’ (‘half-half’), featuring an equal proportion of two matured raw milk cheeses from Canton Fribourg in Switzerland: Gruyère and Vacherin Fribourgeois. The cheeses are melted together, and while the mix is smooth and creamy, a dash of white wine is added to the mixture. At Heritage, all fondue pots are served with bread, baby potatoes and pickles. There is also a truffle infused fondue AND bottomless fondue fun on Mondays.
Heritage’s Traditional Raclette Plate
Raclette is a traditional Swiss dish that originated in the Valais canton of Switzerland about 400 years ago. Like fondue, raclette is a typical après-ski meal that involves scrapping melted raclette cheese onto a plate with potatoes and pickles. To provide an authentic experience, they use only AOP’s certified Raclette cheese exclusively supplied by trusted cheesemongers.
The Raclette Plate at Heritage is served at your table on a hot sizzling pan with baby potatoes and pickles and comes with two portions of melted raclette cheese.
Steaks & BBQ Grill
On the menu is grass-fed beef and free-range pork from the award-winning local butchers Aubrey Allen. The best bit is you can grill at your table using a BBQ stove, known in Switzerland as the Charbonnade.
THE BAR
The bar at Heritage Soho is VERY good. The cocktail selection is a smart combination of good old classics and a range of signatures inspired by the founders’ journeys to the Alps. The signature list showcases the best flavours of the Alpine wonderlands, bursting with intriguing profiles and fresh ingredients. Stand-out presentation adds a final touch to complete the cocktails.
PRE-THEATRE
The pre-theatre dining menu is served Monday – Friday, 5 pm – 6:30 pm, and offers two or three courses, completed with a complimentary glass of wine, prosecco, or beer. With reliably prompt service, expect to savour their gourmet selection of a la carte favourites, including signature Raclette or chef’s special crispy skin duck Breast, and round it off with one particularly indulgent house-made dessert.
BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH
For anyone who appreciates brunch with a twist, every Saturday and Sunday, from 12 pm-5 pm, Heritage serves its Alpine-inspired brunch with a menu of three courses. Over your 2 hour brunch slot at Heritage Soho, your Alpine feast will start with Rösti, a Swiss pan-fried dish made of grated potatoes and served with various toppings, followed by a choice of mains, including a weekend roast & classic or truffle cheese fondue. Round off the experience with a selection of pastries baked in-house; think a rose-shaped Strudel or Sticky Toffee & Caramel Fondant.
Don’t mind sharing? Then, tuck into their Chocolate Fondue, perfect for sharing between two or more. This treat, made of a blend of milk and dark chocolate, is also accompanied by fresh seasonal fruits, homemade marshmallows, and donuts.
Fancy adding some bottomless fizz? There is an option to add bottomless drinks and enjoy two hours of free-flowing Prosecco, Bavarian lager, or cocktails involving Aperol Spritz, Mimosa, and Bloody Mary. There is also a bottomless Champagne package.
SUNDAYS
Heritage Soho offers a special Sunday Roast menu available to order all day every Sunday during brunch and dinner services. Served in a giant Yorkshire, our hearty roast comes with beef or pork trimmings, including a non-meat option of Portobello mushroom. Each dish is generously filled with roasted vegetables and potatoes and arrives with a pot of gravy on the side. The best part? You can add a cheesy topping of raclette or fondue on top.
