The Macallan cocktails at Bar 45
The limited edition cocktail journey created to honour the distillery’s illustrious history is divided into past, present, and future, with a signature cocktail reflecting each phase.

Past
The spirit of the past is captured by a riff on the most classic cocktail known to man – the Manhattan. This cocktail pays homage to Macallan’s rich heritage with Macallan Double Cask 18-Year-Old, Cocchi Extra Dry Vermouth, fig syrup, and chocolate bitters. The Macallan Double Cask 18-Year-Old has a rich raisin and dried apricot palate with notes of treacle toffee, vanilla and ginger, balanced with baked apple and toasted wood spice. The Cocchi Extra Dry Vermouth, a staple of martinis everywhere, adds hints of a floral aroma and herbaceous notes to the palate.

Present
Inspired by the unique and bold Penicillin cocktail, this drink evokes modernity, contemporary tastes, and Macallan’s commitment to innovation. It consists of Macallan Double Cask 12-Year-Old whisky, Drambuie, green apple and vanilla cordial, and chocolate bitters. The Macallan Double Cask 12-Year-Old is creamy and honeyed to the palate with a fruity finish, while the Drambuie adds a sweet hint of black licorice.

Future
This creative cocktail is composed of Macallan Double Cask 12-Year-Old, Amaro Santoni, Cherry calamansi cordial, and fermented lemon. The aim is to masterfully encompass all five taste qualities – sweet, sour, bitter, salty, and umami – to show the unlimited possibilities that are in Macallan’s future.
The Macallan Whisky Tasting & Homemade Chocolate Pairing
Try the Macallan Whisky Tasting and Homemade Chocolate pairing option after the cocktails. The marmalade and pastry notes of the Macallan Double Cask 12-Year-Old are amazing when combined with the subtle, complex aromatic profile and slight acidity of Jamaican Guanaja chocolate. The distinct flavour profile of the Macallan Double Cask 18-Year-Old also pairs nicely with salted caramel chocolate, while the fruity taste of Caraibe orange chocolate accentuates the intensely rich citrus, dried fruit, and woodsmoke flavour of the Macallan Sherry Oak 25-Year-Old.
Bar 45
With its vibrant, artistic atmosphere, Bar 45 is the place to celebrate The Macallan’s 200th birthday. Bar Manager Enrico Perri and the whole team are known for their creative concepts, mixology skills, and world-class hospitality.
Celebrate the art of the negroni with Bar 45’s Negroni Trolley. Five hand-crafted negronis are paired with bespoke scents. The chestnut Negroni is a must try and is the best in London. The Vintage Negroni, a piece of history in a glass, is composed of Gordon’s London Dry Gin from the 1970s, Campari and Antica Formula from the 1980s.

200 Years of The Macallan
The Macallan started distilling single malt whiskies 200 years ago in Easter Elchies, making it one of the oldest legally licensed distilleries in Scotland. They are also innovative, exemplified by creations such as The Macallan’s Horizon, the world’s first horizontal whisky, which did not even have a standing base.
The Macallan’s 200th birthday celebrates how the brand has brought its traditional craft into the present and future, with an innovative outlook. Its logo is a nod to its history and values, with copper curves, acorn imagery, and a reference to the ancient Macallan Estate. Its wavy design reflects continuity – the connection between past, present, and future.
