BAR45 at 45 Park Lane have launched a new cocktail menu inspired by the artistic fusion found all throughout 45 Park Lane. Designed as a continuum of 45 Park Lane’s creative art journey, the new cocktail menu mirrors artwork that adorn the hotel’s walls, and is inspired by various masterpieces from around the world. From Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama’s multi-coloured polka dots to the subversive work of surrealist painter Magritte.

So much attention to detail and passion has been poured into this menu by the bar team. Enrico Perri and Mario Gualtieri have worked with the whole bar team to create something that is unique to Mayfair and Park Lane. Enrico and Mario are the Elliott Grover / Chris Baber equivalent of the mixology world. A dream partnership where they are creating magical drinks that are on par with the brilliant food on offer at 45 Park Lane.

The menu
The three-part cocktail menu takes guests on an artistic voyage of the senses. Starting with eight brand new cocktails inspired by iconic art styles and the best work of globally renowned artists including: The Pout (Art Deco), Just a Drink (Minimalism), Infinity Martini (Contemporary), Lover (Romanticism), Nauge (Surrealism), Glow (an ode to architect Thierry Despont who designed 45 Park Lane’s stylish facade), Royal Pattern (inspired by artist Hormazd Narielwalla’s commissioned Coronation piece for 45 Park Lane) and Viva La Visa (joyfully inspired by Mexican painter Frida Kahlo’s famous final painting ‘Watermelons’). For savoury cocktail lovers, the Infinity Martini is a celebration of the martini with truffle and vanilla-infused Elit vodka, umeshu, Seatrus gin, shochu and some bitters. Savoury, umami with glassware inspired by artist Yayoi Kusama, who sees her multi-coloured polka dots as a way to infinity.

The new menu also acknowledges that art takes many forms, including culinary. Four signature cocktails designed by icon Wolfgang Puck himself include Forbidden Kiss, Peace on Earth, Pepino’s Revenge, and La Dolce Vita.

What about the Negroni trolley?
The Negroni trolley is still there! The new menu is complete with an updated Negroni trolley to celebrate the art of a Negroni. A treat for the senses, the trolley features five handcrafted Negronis each carefully paired with a bespoke fragrance matching the soul of the classic aperitif that is sprayed onto the drink just before serving to really tantalise the senses. These edible perfumes are such a clever touch. If you want to really celebrate the Negroni, there is a rare Vintage Negroni using Gordon’s London Dry Gin 1970s and Antica Formula 1980s.

The five bespoke sensory Negronis include: Chocolate Negroni (finished with 45 No.1 – bergamot and chocolate), Pepper Negroni (finished with 45 No.3 – strawberry and pear) Agave Negroni (finished with 45 No. 4 – pineapple and vanilla) and Negroni Al Lago (finished with 45 No. 5 – smoky whiskey). Our favourite Negroni was the Chestnut Negroni and we feel very strongly that this is the best Negroni in London. The Chestnut Negroni is a heady combination of Ginepraio gin, Vermouth Bianco di Prato, Campari and a lovingly homemade chestnut syrup, aged in an amphora for a smooth palate and finished with 45 No. 2 – thyme and chamomile. The chestnut syrup combined with the thyme and chamomile elevates this Negroni into the stratosphere. If you don’t like Negronis, the Chestnut Negroni at BAR45 will convert you. Guaranteed!
