What actually is Aqualyx fat dissolving?
It is made from several different plant-based compounds – the active component is found naturally occurring in the human body. The product is a solution of deoxycholic acid which emulsifies fats. It dissolves the membranes of fat cells in the treated area. The treatment will also result in skin tightening in the area, so you are less likely to end up with loose skin feeling more contoured and toned.
Aqulayx will break down subcutaneous fat over a month and in most cases starts to work straight away once injected. It can be used to treat pockets of fat around the chin, chest, abdomen and thighs.
The first consultation
Chrystianna and I talked about the treatment and decided we would target the areas under the chin and around the jowl lines. We talked about what the process would involve and importantly, after care.
Chrystianna explained that Aqualyx® is based on a formulation containing deoxycholic acid which the body naturally produces to liquefy the fat in the gut, destroys them permanently and releases lipids which are then expelled by the body through the lymphatic drainage system.
This is not a weight loss treatment or an alternative to diet and exercise; but Aqualyx® injections are very helpful in refining body shape by tackling those areas that are stubborn. The body is designed to store fat and it can be difficult to reduce this fat through other means such as diet and training.
The treatment
I arrived and we went over the consultation before to recap what we were going to do. The actual process itself doesn’t take long at all. The area is cleaned and Chrystianna marks up with a pencil the areas she is going to inject. The Aqualyx® is mixed with a local anaesthetic and then small injections were made into the fat layer of the skin, under my chin and neck area. It didn’t hurt too much and the actual injecting took a few minutes.
With each treatment, Chrystianna and I assessed the area and agreed what we would do. I did a total of four sessions and the result is impressive.
After the treatment
Bruising and swelling is a good thing and shows your body is reacting to the treatment. Immediately after treatment, I felt fine and had a little bit of swelling but no bruising. Aqualyx works by causing an inflammatory reaction in the fat cells which can result in swelling for approximately 3-5 days.
I was also advised not to do any physical exercise for 7 days to minimise the risk of internal infection or bleeding. As well as the injections, diet and exercise is still important.
The results
I could see the results within a few weeks. The jowl line was more defined and the fat under my neck was significantly reduced. This kind of result just motivates me to keep that fat away forever with a decent diet and keeping fit.
This is a great treatment if you want to achieve fat removal as it produces long-lasting results, which means you can banish those unwanted areas of stubborn fat.
