The doors have reopened to one of London’s most famous and historic dining rooms, The Savoy Grill, following a dazzling transformation. Some of the new additions include a sublime menu, a wine experience room, and a breath-taking bar.

A Glamorous Feel
The famous Savoy Grill has been reimagined. This vision has been brought to life by the multi award-winning design studio Afroditi, where Afroditi Krassa and team took inspiration from the glamorous 1920s Hollywood Regency style, a period characterised by the bold use of colour and contrast and sumptuous materials. The room has an elegant regal feel but is still very friendly and comfortable. This is a hard balance to find especially in such a grand dame of a hotel like The Savoy.

The Redesign
The space has been redesigned and refurbished with deep-red velvet lined booths and silk lined blush walls, creating an atmosphere of style yet leisurely feel. British artisanal production and craftsmanship have been celebrated throughout with several bespoke features such as the handmade feather tiles, the scalloped pewter bar, and the specially commissioned artwork by celebrated fashion illustrator Thom Botwood.
The historic Swarovski chandeliers, Churchill’s favourite clock, as well as the original layout of the tables, have been retained in honour of the long history that epitomises the world-renowned Savoy Grill.

Michael Turner
The Savoy Grill is renowned for its fine cuisine made with the very best, seasonal ingredients and known for its luxuriously famous dinners. Michael Turner is the Executive Head Chef with the responsibility of maintaining and exceeding these high standards. Michael competed in the San Pellegrino National Young Chef of Year competition in 2017, where he placed third in the UK and was later shortlisted for the 2019 Young Chef of the Year Awards. He joined the Savoy Grill in 2019 after being involved in the opening of Bread Street Kitchen in 2011.

Signature Dishes
Michael Turner has designed a new menu with seasonal dishes like Louet-Feisser Oysters, paired with Savoy Grill classics including Gordon Ramsay’s signature Beef Wellington with confit Roscoff onion and red wine jus, Duck à l’orange, and a gorgeous native Lobster Thermidor. A must-try are some Dorset snails with wild garlic butter. Turn the shell upside down and you will unearth the wild garlic butter which has been lovingly prepared in an almost sprinkle-like texture.

The Grill also has an Arnold Bennett souffle, a nod to the famous omelette Arnold Bennett. And what a nod with delicately smoked haddock and the creamiest Montgomery cheddar sauce. So many textures and flavours.
Desserts
To end, there are some beauties. The Savoy Grill Éclair with Hazelnut, orange and dark chocolate sauce is so elegant and has that pleasing nutty chocolate overtone and a pleasingly thick pastry to hold all that goodness. An Apple Tart Tatin for two is also a must-order. For some drama, a generous Rum Baba is prepared and flamed table side.

The Wine Experience Room
The Wine Experience Room is a great addition to the Savoy Grill. Hundreds of rare and high-end bottles are displayed in a private walnut wood-lined room and the Grill’s cellar for guests to enjoy. You can also indulge in an immersive culinary experience at the Chef’s Table, which The Grill will continue to offer.
