Geode London, a culinary journey that transports guests to the blue skies of the Amalfi Coast and the vibrant cities of Asia, launched at Beauchamp Place last month. Named after a mesmerising crystal, Geode promises an unparalleled dining experience with luxurious interiors and a seasonal menu reflecting Mediterranean & Asian influences.
Nestled in the heart of Knightsbridge, Geode is a sprawling venue across three floors of a Georgian townhouse. Upon entry through the copper door, look out for the bar, featuring a geode design with colourful stones across the bronze front. Then then make your way up to a split-level mezzanine featuring an elegant conservatory with an open-plan kitchen where plates are finished to perfection on the Robata Grill.
Fine Dining
Executive Head Chef Francesco Scala will channel his creativity through Mediterranean influences, while the accomplished Japanese Chef Yuka Aoyama will take the lead in infusing Asian flavours to create an immersive dining adventure. The exposed kitchen overlooking the conservatory will feature an all-black design, to contrast against the open flames. A dedicated Robata Grill, Rotisserie Station and Pizza Oven will be on show too.
The split menu will showcase a variety of fresh and seasonal dishes using local ingredients. For a Mediterranean flair, highlights include beef tartare on roasted bone marrow and Cataplana (Spanish fish stew style, cooked in cataplana copper). For those looking for a Japanese delicacy, explore an array of Asian influences from the raw section including King Crab Gunkan or Tai Miso Seabream from the Robata section.
Night time fun
Each evening, the lights will softly fade, live music will commence, and the conservatory will undergo a transformation. The upper restaurant will remain the same, providing an intimate dining experience until late, whilst below the vibrant bar and lounge area will ignite the senses with live music for those seeking late-night delights.
Geode’s allure extends beyond the kitchen and into the bar, with an extensive cocktail menu, where they will stir and shake classics and their signature creations to order. The Asian & Mediterranean influence will continue to be present, using key ingredients and flavours with highlights including a Ruby Negroni — strawberry-infused Banhez Mezcal, Saffron Vermouth and Italian bitter, an Amber Old Fashioned with oak & tobacco bitters, Whistlepig Piggyback Rye, fresh orange and maraschino or a Topaz Martini – Grey Goose, fig liqueur and lavender syrup.
Designer Studio Sagrada along with Neha Beriwala has delivered the same level of attention to the interiors, by sourcing high-quality materials to create a stylish design softened by low mood lighting, oozing modernised glamour. The stripped-back design seamlessly blends rugged charm with luxurious elements, creating an atmosphere that is both distinctive and inviting.
All eyes will be drawn to a unique, jagged hole on the backlit wall behind the bar, where diners will be invited to see through into the conservatory, encompassing the contrasting beauty Geode stands for. Each room will be filled with dynamic furnishings and fixtures, creating a vivid burst of colour that contrasts with the sophisticated ambience of the raw interiors.
Setting the Scene
Colours draw inspiration from the Mediterranean vernacular roof tiles, burnt earth, terracotta urns, and the captivating coral of the sea. Followed by the second-floor mezzanine, the design incorporates shades of lavender and blues, reminiscent of the Mediterranean Sea at twilight and the picturesque lavender fields of Provence. Lastly, guests will head towards the dining room, where the design delves into the serene landscapes of the South of France, prominently featuring shades of green inspired by olives and plane trees that line the roads in France.
Led by Salvatore Broccu and Marios Louvaris (ex-Novikov Group), Geode is set to bring a new dining concept that introduces an old-school glamour back to Knightsbridge.
