Driving a Rolls Royce Ghost is amazing but it’s always nice to be driven right?
It’s 11am on a Saturday morning. My mum and her friends have this Saturday lunch club but today we are switching things up a little. Their car is a chauffeur driven luxuriate Rolls-Royce Ghost provided by AZ Luxe to one of our favourite London restaurants.
AZ Luxe is also home to luxury car hire, concierge services and can even hook you up with a private jet charter. The Rolls-Royce Ghost arrives. All the neighbours are looking but pretending not to look at the same time. The car is gleaming in the late autumn sun as it approaches. This is so much more than a car, it is a total statement of everything that is good in life. Style, comfort and luxury. Each detail is deliberate and precise, focusing on the power of simplicity.
The chauffeur Fahim is smartly dressed and talks us through the new safety procedures as we climb into our chariot. Two things stood out the most on top of the usual hygiene that we all now live with. First of all, gloves will be used to handle luggage and opening/closing doors and will be disposed of before entering the car to drive it. Also, all of the AZ Luxe fleet also goes through a car fumigation system every night, where antiviral disinfectant is sprayed/fogged inside.
The trip to London (and back) was seamless. It makes a big difference when someone else does the driving! After, I met with owner Abbass Zadeh (AZ!) to talk more about what he does.
How did AZL start?
AZL started with me wanting to conquer the luxury transportation industry. After many years of working in the automotive industry, he began with a team of 6 chauffeurs which soon grew to 10. The fleet of cars then grew from two Mercedes-Benz S classes and two Mercedes-Benz V classes, to a fleet of 12 vehicles, including three Rolls-Royces, a Phantom, Ghost and Wraith, two Lamborghinis, a Huracan Spyder, Huracan Performante, a Bentley Bentayga and more.
What’s the funniest thing that’s happened on a trip?
A regular client of ours is quite the playboy. He booked a car to take him to a long list of dates all in one day. Unaware of this, the chauffeur was very confused as to why the main passenger remained the same but the ladies changed after every venue. A lot of champagne was drank, spilled and thrown at our resident playboy as he started to mix the ladies names up as the day went on.
Who is the most famous client you have picked up?
We are unable to disclose any names but we do work with politicians, footballers, singers, actors and Middle Eastern royalty amongst many others.
Tell us about the concierge service? Is there anything you won’t do?
There is nothing AZL won’t do! We have delivered puppies to Ostend, taken handbags across the country in a blizzard, organised private jets, yacht parties, fulfilled bucket lists for clients wanting to experience a supercar drive, been a part of proposals, weddings, and many other celebrations. Being who we are we have great contacts in great places so turning client requests into reality is our forte.
What about private charter planes?
We work in partnership with many private jet owners as well as charter companies and can offer bespoke travel for clients wanting to travel by private jets. Chartering private jets can be surprisingly affordable and we are also able to provide an inflight chef, personal trainers and every single request that comes with private jet hire.
How has the congestion charge in London affected business?
Congestion charge has been one of those things you just have to get on with and manage, as a luxury company we have taken the hit and have been fortunate enough to have enough work through our doors to make up for the loss. Our clients’ needs are our first priority and it will always remain that way.
What’s next for AZL?
Let’s be honest, 2020 is the year of survival. So 2021 is the year of the comeback. We will look to rebuild our self-drive fleet and chauffer services for now we are keeping our eyes peeled for the way in which the world is changing and will continue to find ways in which we can adapt safely for our clients to keep using us and growing our company, hopefully with a new worldwide location as we look to expand our presence across the globe.
