The food
The Dorchester’s talented chefs (Mario, Tom and JP) will create menus celebrating British, French and Mediterranean food.
12-25 April 2021: Starting with head chef at The Grill at The Dorchester, Tom Booton (fresh from his brilliant Saturday Kitchen debut) will introduce a British summertime menu showcasing a land, sea and garden concept including: a much talked about Waterloo cheese wrapped in pastry with honey and truffle; ribeye with mushrooms; prawn Scotch egg with curry sauce and a strawberry tartlet.
26 April-9 May 2021: Bringing relaxed Parisian chic to the rooftop, executive chef of three Michelin starred Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, Jean-Philippe Blondet will create a modern, light and elegantly informal pop-up with a menu of small plates including hummus, seaweed crisp and lemon confit; grilled octopus, confit pepper and grapefruit; and native lobster.
Further pop-ups will be announced later in the year.
Entertainment
Details are yet to be confirmed but on selected days, there will be a live band in the afternoons and also a DJ playing late into the night on The Dorchester Rooftop. As well as this, there will be plenty of views across Hyde Park and London. Imagine sipping a little something as the sun sets over Hyde Park at Golden Hour.
Celebrating 90 years
Reopening in time to celebrate the hotel’s 90th anniversary on 20 April 2021, The Dorchester marks its ninth decade with the launch of the Dorchester Rooftop as well as the reopening of The Dorchester Terrace & Garden and the Spring Garden globes. Perched on the hotel’s forecourt, The Dorchester Terrace & Garden (walk ins only) has just seven tables of two, serving an all new cocktail menu by The Bar at The Dorchester’s award winning team of alchemists led by cocktail genius and legend Giuliano Morandin, who celebrates his 40th year at The Dorchester this year.
If that wasn’t enough, The Dorchester will also fully reopen on 17 May 2021.
